| Quote Branded Bull="Branded Bull"Why do people still listen to Mick G? Sure his commentary has greatly improved the BCB coverage of Bulls matches. However his claims that he's in the know about anything Bulls related is laughable, the majority of the time he predicts an announcement its been mentioned by several sources prior (though Mick tends to big it up that's it's something more than it actually is). Unfortunately all his breaking news tends to come 5 to 10 minutes after it's broke somewhere else.'"
It could get worse now Stuart Duffy is back in the front office, though I hope he tempers his enthusiasm to wind up folk with pointing folk in the wrong direction. he would have a field day with Mick's gullibility!

| Easily solved with Mick G, stop following him on Twitter. In fact, come off Twitter altogether and get your life back.

| Quote Bull Mania="Bull Mania"To be fair if there's nothing to report what are the club meant to do. They can't keep issuing statements just because some people put out false information about the club, investors etc
I think the club must be absolutely sick of people putting out false information. Other clubs don't seem to get it as much. Yorkshire radio tweeting we were days from admin. Last night a twitter fans group put out a tweet that Mitch Clark was staying sending Bulls fans wild. An hour later Ross poured cold water on it.
I agree on Mick though. Now he's a commentator and seems to get more access to the club, people are taking him more seriously as inside info. He needs to be more responsible with what he puts out there. The Richie Mathers signing. If the Bulls just announced it, i think most would have been "meh", but because Mick put out a tweet "Marc Green has certainly opened the cheque book" he made it out that we'd signed a superstar. So the fans ended up being almost angry at the club.
Again after the Fev defeat, he said almost immediately afterwards tweeted "the RFL need a contingency plan for what happens next" sparking utter panic. Again he's been doing his cryptic tweets about owners, Koukash being on holiday etc Fans are taking it that he's got some inside info. Then when he puts out that there will be breaking news on BCB radio, eveyrone thought we were getting new owners, investors, Koukash. I do believe he knew Robbie was leaving but why not say "Breaking news on BCB, not involving ownership though" He knew what he was doing IMO and it was poor.
He's a good commentator and probably does get some inside info before some of us. But because he's getting that access, people are taking him more seriously. He needs to stop with the crytpic tweets, particularly about important issues such as ownership as it just makes fans angry at the club even though nothing has changed.'"
Tbh, if the club wanted to stop those spreading false info, then they would just need to start handing out a few libel suits. Of course, those would require that what is being said had no truth to it...

| Quote woolly07="woolly07"Totally agree about mick. He has improved the commentary as he jumps in and stops Hobbo going off on his rants.
He does however need to stop leading fans on.
Excellent points made by Bull Mania and both the club and Mick should accept that it takes very little to fan the flames of worry for Bulls fans after the last 4 years. Mick should shut up now and be either a commentator who the club can trust or pack that job in and be a fan only where he can tweet as much as he wants. The Bulls should read Bull Mania's post and then have a word with Mick - but unfortunately not many managers remain up at Odsal these day's.'"
Excuse me, leading fans on?
Robbie Hunter Paul leaving the club in my opinion is a very newsworthy piece which on Friday night when that tweet was put out was 'breaking news' for anyone who supports or follows the club.
Saturday morning the club phoned me deciding to embargo the news till Monday out of respect for RHP and the BCB news on Saturday shifted to Koukash pulling out of Salford and the news about Lee Gaskell, Paul Clough and Dale Ferguson.
What I don't expect is personal abuse. Good Day.

| Quote Sensei-Bull="Sensei-Bull"On Gledhill's BCB report on Saturday lunchtime, he said that he spoke to Koukash after the Salford match and he's walking away from the game. As Mick seemed to be the main source of the Koukash takeover rumours he more or less put an end to them, or so it sounded to me anyway.'"
Of course he's going to tell someone that from a radio station he's never heard off.

| TBF Mick I don't think there has been any personal abuse on this thread.
In terms of your social media comments I think you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. People will put their spin on anything. You need to be careful what you say on air too.
I'd refrain from commenting about anything other than the facts - it's safer all round and you and everyone else knows the score. That way you avoid embarrassment like after the Mathers signing.
The most respected journos build up a reputation for not putting their own spin on things and get renowned for being reliable.
Others like that prat with connections to Leigh and Salford are seen as a joke.
Keep up the good work.

Apologies, the abuse myselfand Ross are getting is from the Twitter/Facebook crowd, although a few do post on here.
Those people accusing me and Ross of scaremongering should know that after the defeat at Featherstone Rovers, a current club employee and an ex director of the club both said "the club's ####ed" and that "they'll be no club this time next week."
Raw feelings aside, comments like this don't help the situation, especially when made to myself, Ross, Dave Craven, Yorkshire Radio etc.
As I've always said, transparent accountability, absolute commitment and effort from everyone at the club is all supporters ask for. You give that and they will always support you.
Righty as you state Sam, the same does go for broadcasters and journalists.

| That was brilliant Mick. I actually laughed out load when you said "Good day". Have you been watching Mary Poppins this morning?
In all fairness to those who've commented, I don't believe they are being nasty. As you're very aware, the fans are currently on tenterhooks. If you promise breaking news or an update from Marc Green but then don't deliver it (for whatever reason) then it will get people's backs up.
Chin up old boy. You're doing a spiffing job.

| Mick, my last post was not abuse at you. You do a good job on BCB when I listen on the way to matches and occasionally during when I remember to take my radio to Odsal.
My point was and is that being a commentator who gets privileged insights into the club you do need to distance that job from being a fan who comments on here and other places. I have never tweeted or read them or face book whatever that is so I am commenting about this forum only.
In my job I deal in private and privileged information and must keep a clear demarcation between knowing something and then letting it out in other wider conversations. It is difficult to do that at times but I tell myself to smile and say nowt if someone asks me something that I can't comment on.
That was my point with your position and what is now a very uptight and worried group of fans who hang on every word they read or hear. When I said "leading fans on" it is purely saying you are leading people to conclusions due to not being able to give the full details. That means they make the rest up themselves which is usually wrong. That is why I think it is probably best to say nothing - or in other words, "shut up" till you can tell the whole story.
No offence was meant but media people need to be very careful what information they put out, the quality, amount and the timing of it.
Other than that i really do think you have improved the broadcasts greatly. Well done and keep smiling.
