£50,000 transfer fee, for a 34 year old in the second tier competition. Impressive. (That must be a record transfer fee for the 2nd tier comp in this country??)

Leigh clearly mean to go up this time and would then see that fee as money well invested or able to be written off considering the extra cash available in Super league next season if Higham is the difference in them getting there.

Also, in that article when they mention his previous clubs how come they don't mention his time with us??!?

Where as I can't see one of you finishing third above one of the other 3 SL teams, unless Wakefield appoint a miracle man to get us out of the mess were in, I can definately see you and Leigh fighting for the 4th and 5th spot.

Back on topic, that's a good signing by Leigh. Although I like their first choice hooker, Higham will bring bags of SL experience to their side which they will need in the Middle 8s against SL opposition. I thought they might have signed him on loan till the end of the season rather than paying a fee for him, as he's 34, but he's still a class player.

He could make all the difference, money well spent if he helps them get promoted.

Because of Fev's CC game last week, we now have to fit in a midweek game with them, which will be Wednesday 1st July.

In the 2 televised matches I thought Beswick was in Leigh's top three performers- and has been playing the full 80minutes. Higham is obviously a class act and will play so it will be interesting to see how the team and Beswick react and adapt

I'd expect pretty successfully main reason they stumped up the cash for Higham is because i believe Sean Penkywicz (spelling?) is out for the season with a knee injury and they were operating with two hookers.
