| Ropati has been injured for about 3 years. Was cracking at one point though. I read last week that Elliot wanted to keep him and Ropati wanted to stay.

| Quote Bulliac="Bulliac"Jerome Ropati would tie up a few rumours; from NZ Warriors, J R, been injured a bit this year.......
edit - Not to mention a direct replacement for Keith Lulia..'"
He was the first name that popped into my head when I saw those initials. Perhaps our ties with Matty Elliot could add fuel to the fire?
And I seriously doubt we will be signing Jack Reed.

| By my reckoning we have quite a few options available to us with the squad as it is.
For me the weakest area is centres so really hoping we get some reinforcements there. If we can also get a prop in (someone like Ben Evans would be ideal) I think we'd be covered their too.
Biggest plus for me is that we seem to have some really good youngsterscoming through the system. Naughton really impressed me on Saturday and I'd like to see him get another chance rather putting Foster or even Gaskill in there. I'd also like to see Sam Wood and Nathen Conroy given more chances. Conroy looks a better option than O'Brien for me going from Saturdays performance. Plenty of good movement and options, something I think O'Brien lacks.
FB - Kearney/Naughton/Foster/Gaskill
W - Foster/Kear/George/Wood
C - Purtell/Blythe/Wood/Gaskill
SO - Gaskill/Sammut/Addy
SH - Gale/Sammut/Gaskill
P - Carvell/Manuokafoa/Scruton/Sidlow
H - Diskin/L'Estrange/O'Brien/Conroy
SR - Bateman/Ferguson/Olbison/Walker/Blythe/Addy/Donaldson/Mellor/Roberts
LF - Addy/Donaldson/Walker/Bateman
Think we have a lot to look forward to next year!!!

| Agree about Conroy as a better prospect than Obrien. He seemed to have better vision and better distribution. Probably going to need 18 months physical development before he edges in from of O'Brien. By the to.e the two old boys have gone, he should be ready.

| Just to ramble a bit about what others have posted;
It took me a few minutes to realise Conroy had replaced O'Brien, they're almost identical! I'm pretty sure Ferguson can play prop at a push, certainly more than Walker or Mellor can this last season and probably not as stretching it as Blythe in the second row. I really worry about the idea of Gaskell at centre, him and a half-back defending one flank doesn't appeal at all.
I also reckon at least another one, perhaps two, academy lads will join up full time with no intention to play a la Naughton, Wood and Roberts.

| Possibly, although they have all played. Not sure who should be next to step up, Probably would have been Conroy and Mellor but they moved up mid season didn't they.

| Steve Copeland was Sam Wood's choice for player of year and Jarod Ward won an award also, maybe these two could be next off the production line.

I've heard there might be some....
Though, if it were me working out when to drip some more info into the public domain, I'd wait until the season ticket sales tailed off and then use it to give some impetus...of course, you're then at the mercy of others ruining your big news with spoilers.

I kept reading the Salford forum when the Gaskell rumours were rife, and they were extremely critical of his defence, and particularly his desire to get involved, so him in the centres is a worry.
