We would have probably gone to the concert (4tickets) if it didn't clash with the rugby. But we'll be in Manchester for both days of rugby, as rugby takes priority.

Putting the concert on then would usually mean that it would need to be marketed outwith the core Bulls support as they will be the ones more concerned with the game.

But all the early marketing seems to have been targeted at the bulls fans, only in the last 2-3weeks have I begun to see more general marketing, presumably as realisation begins to set in that there's a game on.

In previous Magic weekends, it's not like the Bulls took 10K to Manchetser though, is it? I know many of those who don't attend watch the telly, but many people now have video recorders, so could do both, and the target isn't just the season pass holders but of course their families and friends.

I got the impression quite early on that the club always thought the potential concert goers weren't [inecessarily[/i going to be the rugby fans, though, pretty obviously, there is always going to be some crossover.

Anyway, it seems to me that some people actually almost [iwant[/i it to be a failure, for reasons I find hard to understand, maybe so they can get some bragging rights how they always knew it would be, etc. I have no time for that.

The Club should be commended for even attempting this commercial venture.
It may fail or be a modest success or a major one: but whatever it will have been tried.

It is a first for us and as such the success (or otherwise) is unknown at the moment and there will be teething problems that need to be learned and addressed if further events are to be scheduled

There is a possibility that this event is being staged with lower level artists to assure promoters of Odsal's organisational capability to put on headline acts.
