| Any decent marketing team would use this as an opportunity to generate a bit of purpose to our final home game (along with Hood's half time announcement) and hopefully raise the attendance somewhat.

| As we all said a short while ago, we'd rather know who was leaving before the Wakefield game, so we can give the players a send off.
While we may be sad to see him leaving, I think we should be glad that we know it before that match, so that Beaver can be given a nice "goodbye and thanks" by the fans.
Also, IMO, regardless of what you think of our form this year, this in itself is a good enough reason to get your @rse up to Odsal for the Wakefield match and give this living legend a proper appreciation.

| This was on the cards wasn't it? Despite him being pretty much our best player too.
It all rather depends on who comes in to take his place. We need a quality stand off and centre. If sacrificing Menzies was the only way of getting them then fair enough.
He'll do a great job at another club and will go down as one of our best ever imports.
I'll be at the Wakey game and hope the club give him a good send off. He's been a shining light amongst the dross of the past few years.
Thanks Beaver.

| sad to see him go but feel its right option by bulls if quota hadnt have been reduced by 1 i think hed have got another year but like board feel need to use quota space wisley and other areas of team need strenghtening more the 2nd row.
think potter will bring some good players in remember he was the one who would only give long a year deal and turned out to be best thing to happen at saints i trust potter to sort squad out

| Well I asked Connor about all this on twitter and he reckons there is method in the madness, so for now I will give the decision makers (Potter) the benefit of the doubt.
I'm hoping we've already filled the quota spot he will be vacating and have just chosen not to announce the signing yet. Save the announcements of any big name signings until AFTER next season's season tickets have gone on sale

| I had reached the conclusion myself some time ago that we might have to lose Menzies to strengthen some weaker area. However, there are rumblings in some other quarters that we have signed Michael Crocker pending borders clearance. I think we'd be unlikely to get said clearance, and would prefer Menzies anyway.

| Gutted. Both for the fans and Menzies.
He wanted a new deal, he's one of our best players (if not the best) and rarely do you find a player who will play with such pride, passion and commitment and put his heart into everything he does in the shirt. It's going to have to be one hell of a player coming in to make me think this is the right decision - certainly not Chris Flannery.
Thanks for everything Beaver, I feel privileged to have seen a legend such as Steve play for my club, but even at 37 I feel he could do a better job than most players we could sign to replace him. You'll be missed on and off the field Beaver, that's for sure!

| Quote IN MORE baby news from Brookvale, Sea Eagles great Steve Menzies is expected back from the UK in the very near future to celebrate the birth of his second child.
Menzies' heavily pregnant wife Suyin has already arrived home for a Down Under delivery, expected in a fortnight. The 36-year-old marvel will return to Bradford straight after witnessing the birth to play the Bulls' final match.'"
