| Quote Ewwenorfolk="Ewwenorfolk"Well, he's not too much worse than Platt and room for improvement. You can't fault his effort though, what about when he stopped Adrian Morley well into the Warrington thrashing.'" IMO he didn't Morley was slipping in to the tackle. But that doesn't alter the fact that Maury, Meli, Pryce, JD. JJB have all trampled him these last few games.

thats always going to be a problem with a small player tbf. Halley isnt making the really obvious mistakes that platt does and people tend to highlight, but he isnt a massive leap in quality over platt as some of plattys detractors make out. At the moment daves doing enough to keep the fb spot but he's going to have to stay on his toes, as one bad game and it wouldnt be unreasonable to give platt a game.

Now it all makes sense. You're 4 foot 8 and have an irrational hatred of other little people.

| Halley looks to have better positional sense so has been taking the ball more often on the full and running it back he's got more space. Platt looks to be out of position too often which contributes to poor decisions as he's under pressure sooner. If he could sort that side of his game I'd say he's a better option at full back. Right now Halley, although he's not error free, isn't making the stupid mistakes and deserves to be in the starting line up.

Perhaps Halley's positional nous is no better than Platt's but he is using his pace to put himself into better positions as needed in developing a defence, and also for running the ball back so gaining ground towards his forwards.
Platt's overall pace is reasonable but pretty poor from a standing start which IMO leaves him exposed to repositioning.

My impression is Halley's not catching the ball on the run, nor is he letting it bounce so he looks to be more ready, which makes me think he knows better where he needs to be.
Platt's not slow but there are too many occasions where either he's not getting to the ball so it's bouncing or he's stretching to get there putting himself under pressure. If you improve that part of his game he can compensate for being slightly slower off the mark and once he gets up to speed he is more physical than Halley so should be able to break the tackle more often.

| Dave was recorded as 5'9" when they put the squad up on the Bulls official website. But I suppose to be fair, he might have grown.
