| Quote: Highlander "Can someone remind me of what the criteria were for your club income to count for the salary cap the RFL would allow you?
It was something to do with club specific income. So ticket sales, merchandising counted. Probably sponsorship as well, but central RFL funding didn't?'"
Central funding will count as income in this respect. It would make absolutely no sense whatsoever if this were not the case, think about it.

He is younger than Pryce. He isn't better though.
Although I do think Ridyard is a good 7. He is no Pryce and never will be.

We're not very good at signing people are we?
How many times can I say it. JUST HOW BIG IS LEIGHS SALARY CAP? They must have, like, a 50 player squad.....

| Ok, Travis Burns is not the player we need, nor want but I would question... how the hell are Leigh able to sign all these players without any competition from us?
Also, their salary cap must be pretty close to the edge. I know Rangi won't have been on peanuts but neither with Burns.

| Leon would be the perfect fit for us and yes, there's a bit of sentiment in there too.
Experience and leadership he would bring plenty to the table as well as still applying himself at a high level on the playing front.
Agree with others that he's be a straight swap for Gaskell and we'd still need a 7.
He then would be a good fit for a coaching role - especially with him been a local lad progressing through our academy himself.

| The Moss signing seems official, but not being a ST holder I am reliant on leaked emails and my over worked credulity.

| How about a ridiculous 2 + 2 = 5 bit of thinking.
If Rohan is raiding (edit: former) Penrith players and we have half the Scotland squad already on our books, then our scrum half in waiting has to be Peter Wallace, right?

Sounds good to me! Wallace has been rumoured to fancy a stint in England for quite some time now, suspect he might be out of our reach though in terms of salary. But hey you never know and Rohan did say we had to think big and aim high!
A signing like that, could completely transform our chances of promotion.

Does anyone know what the salary cap is?? And Saints will be paying a chunk of Burn's wages won't they ??

Can't see it, with them looking to get rid of Segayaro. Wallace covered hooker earlier this season and I guess would be their first choice now.

As I understand it our cap is potentially the same as in SL. It all depends on our 'qualifying' income [hence Mark Green telling us to buy from the club] and obviously us having the money to spend.
In SL they receive the full cap amount in their competition and Sky payments, though clearly we don't.

| Championship clubs can spend right up to the SL cap level, which is £1.8m.
However, they are still restricted by the 50% of 'relevant club income' stipulation, which would mean that if Leigh wanted to spend up to the SL cap level, their club relevant income would need to be £3.6m.
I know Del boy has deep pockets, but he'd be absolutely mental to plough that much into the club in one season imo.

Hopefully we are generating money from sponsorship and through the 'gate' - when we get a home match, that is! (five of our final seven matches, after today, are at home - so, if you bring about 6,000 to LSV, that would help our 'relevant club income' a lot! )
