| Makes me sad when people mention that great 89 team I never got to witness, maybe one of the best of the decade ?
Now were stuck with Jon Clarke and Chris Dean ha
Hope you bring a few on Sunday, looking for a Widnes win if I'm honest but definitely wouldn't rule out a Bulls one

Yep. Amazing to witness that team tear apart one of the best ever Canberra teams (inc Daley, Meninga, Ferguson, Lazarus etc) at Old Trafford.

| You'll have to go to the office to buy a ticket at £23. Best to get one from the Bulls at £20 - 10% of which goes to the Bulls.

| Yes, that '89 Widnes side was a great one and great to watch too. I always remember the battles with you in the seventies though when Jim Mills and Ian van Bellen used to go at it hammer and tongs. Jim was a fearsome opponent, but got to give it to Van Bellen - he never took a backward step.

| Of course, Big Jim did eventually see the light and joined a proper team ... I think Selwyn offered him free haircuts at his barbers

Jim came to Widnes via Australia where he was sent off in his first 2 appearances (amongst others). He always claimed that getting sent off in Oz was an occupational hazard and should not count on his record!!!! Think his club before Oz was Bradford though.

| I remember Jim in the Kings Head on Halifax Rd in Bradford in the very early seventies[ let's be honest, you couldn't bloody miss him.. I know I stopped working there around 1971 and I'm pretty sure he'd left Bradford by then.
