| I'd quite like to see another centre brought in. Reports I have seen suggest that Purtell is stronger on the wing. If that is the case, I hope we intend to play him there. As has been demonstrated this year, playing wingers in the centres doesn't work!! I guess perhaps it will depend on whether the likes of Sykes/Platt remain at the club.
And a tough aggressive forward like others have suggested.

| Think Karls homegrown status is why he's maybe a more likely signing than goulding

| Quote: Diamond Harry "Karl Pryce gets a lot of flak for not using his size and his heart in games, which is fair because he could be devastating if he did. Pryce's job though is to score tries, which he has, in a poor team this season 11 in 17 games for the Quins. Overall Pryce has scored 60 tries in 80 games in Super League, put him outside a good centre and he will score for fun. I hope we resign him because we need a natural tryscorer, plus he would be classed as home grown.'"
Agree, he's also a good centre.

I suggested same re purtell being used on wing when hecwas first rumoured and got shot down in flames. He's been mainly used on wing at Penrith. That said he started out as a centre before he joined Penrith so it's not like he's never played there.

| i think the ideal would be wing, but centre is a more important position and looks likely to be one of our best 2 centres.

Only possible if sammut gets dispensation which I think is unlikely given how long it's dragged on. Think if rfl were going to give it we would have heard by now.

Unfortunately Lewis hasn't been available this week to sign it off as he's been on a real tennis fact finding mission for his day job.

| Quote: Bull Mania "Why do we need ANOTHER half back. We've already got Sammut, Jefferies, Briggs, Gale and Southernwood for next year.
Urgent priority is a nasty aggressive forward. Our pack is no nice it's alomost pathetic. We were getting pushed by 5ft Mcshane against Leeds, only Elima stood up. Would also like another winger (Elliot Kear preferably
Out of the 5 you mention no pairing stands out and I'd be happy with any of the first 4 playing alongside Leon. As that appears out of the question due Leon getting going to Cats for more money I can't help musing that I would swap any 3 of them to have Leon. Lulia looks excellent from what I've seen and Purtell's stats don't match the flak he's got from the Panthers fans so these look 2 good signings in the backs alongside Raynor and AN Other. My fear is Potter will look a hostage to fortune if the ball to this back line is as poor as it has been. The last 2 saints tries yesterday were a joy to see - a fast, accurate back line sweep with outside backs coming from deep. Do we have the players to move and pass like that? Not sure.
A real good quality ruck defender in the mould of Morro, Gartner, Forshaw

| Tbf, Saints failed to ask the right questions of the Wigan defence till it was too late. In that first half they looked like us.

This to me tells the story and is a slight worry. the signings dont answer all the questions and leon would be an outstinding addition at the moment

How we miss the likes of them!
What would we give for another Danny Gartner right now?

| agree Adey. People laughed about him being trumpeted as an Aussie international when he had only played once, but he certainly did it for us.
Looking at the way the squad is shaping up and performances this season, the biggest drop off against previous performance is Langley, where the intermittent injuries have not helped him when he has got on the pitch this year, hes just not had a long enough run at full fitness and his stats are not anywhere nearwhat he himself would want. So I would see a defensive LF as cover as a necessity, whether from outside,or a current squad player and a replacement for them, for example Koppy with Bailey to replace him as a prop or Elima and Morrison to replace him at 2nd row. something like that. if his injuries continue thats how its going to have to be

| TBH, as good as Langley is for us, Im beggining to think we should cut our losses with him if we cant keep him fit.

Langley, Scruton, Sibbitt and Hargreaves, in any combination.
