Am I dreaming things up or did Gale play loose forward in his early career? Maybe Gale 13, Sammut 7 and Herbert 6 would be the best combination although Gales defence at 13 would be thrown massively into question. Let Ah Van go, would much rather have Ainscough and Raynor on our wings with genuine pace & the actual position they have played all career instead of being a "utility" back! Have Crookes or Platt as back up there!

With gale and sammut we'll be far better than herbert and a.n other.

I think the phrase was more "best that we've got" than anything else and that none of the presumed replacements were any better. Thats not the same as saying he's a good organiser. He has started to show abit more of it laterly but no I agree he's not brilliant at it.
