| It's a disgrace that they aren't getting acts like Rihanna or Katy Perry to do the prematch entertainment it's a total lack of ambition. I suggested forcing Oasis to reform but it fell on deaf ears and when I suggested tempting Michael Jackson out of retirement Duffy said something about "mortal hurdles" being in the way. Total lack of ambition and totally half hearted!

I think this is the point. I actually like the idea of getting bands on, and accept that they need to do different ones to cater to all tastes (and again I point out that I thought the band at the Wigan game were very good). However on Sunday it was just too loud. That meant that those people who weren't bothered about the girl group "performing", couldn't have a conversation on the terraces (and I assume in the stand too), as you couldn't hear the person you were talking to (or at least I certainly struggled with that).
I'd like to see us keep the bands, but just not quite THAT loud, so that people who aren't bothered about the band can at least talk to each other. It's fine if you're enjoying the band, but if it stays that loud, all it will encourage me to do is check out who the pre-match is beforehand, and if it looks like something I won't enjoy, I won't get there until late in the day (which will mean at least one less pint will be sold). If others think that, it can affect your bar (and food) takings. Keeping it at a reasonable level, while still loud enough to enjoy it if you are watching them, would mean everybody's happy.

| I like the fact that Bullman's Parade is accompanied by some 80s cock rock in the shape of 'Panama' by Van Halen, quality stuff!
That girl band were not my cuppa tea but apart from them being a bit loud, they didn't bother me. Not sure what's worse though - a really loud bit of entertainment or something so quiet it may as well not be on. I did notice some people applauded them when they were done though, maybe some folk liked them?
One thing I did think about yesterday is that it would be nice to have more bars and places where people can sit. Cue Gardens was packed as I walked past (perhaps in part due to Man U v Liverpool match being on telly, but a lot of people were outside too) and it would be good if there was more scope for people to spend their beer money inside the ground, perhaps even a bar or two on the upper concourse. One of the best assets of Odsal is the amount of space around the ground - lets use it!

Not sure about Rihana, I think I saw them a few years back and didn't rate them to be honest, though I've never really been into the folky stuff to be honest. Kathy is good though, but to me a ventriloquist would be hard to appreciate in the big Odsal bowl, I mean, how would you tell if her lips were moving?
If Jacko is available it wouldn be dead good see him at the 'Bowl of Dreams', though I think Duffy has a relation who sings a bit.....she'd be OK.

| I'm currently doing my best to get my band a gig at Odsal for one of the matchdays. We're not bad - we hold a tune

This is the sort of thing the club should consider.

Errm, in a word no.
I worked in a number of bands over the years (and once played in the old club house at Odsal in the speedway days), they were reasonable bands for the most part (particularly in the later years), even if I say so myself, and we worked all over the place (some of them quite classy) but a few years ago I met a guy I worked with in my first band (I was 18) and he copied some tapes he'd done at the time. We honestly thought we were the bees knees back in the late sixties, but I'm here to tell you now we were utter shiite. Funny thing is we got away with it in the clubs and pubs (must have been the families, cheerleading ) but some kids who've just got some kit and are still very much learning the game (not that you [iever[/i stop learning) are very unlikely to cut it in the rarefied atmosphere of the Odsal bowl imo.
