| Soward made an impact when he had a short stint at London a few years ago. I recall he was the main reason they reached the cup semi finals that season. There should be no problems regarding a visa given his playing record. He is an organiser and could fulfill the role Campese fills at HKR.
But I doubt we could afford him even for half a season.

| It might just be me being a miserable git but I don't think this Charnock signing solves anything. If we're only concerned about the next month then just stick Addy back at scrum half and you'll see a marked improvement over recent weeks. Obviously not the standard we all want but I'm sure it will see us through a "month". Hopefully Rohan is smart enough to realise that he dropped a clanger playing Mathers at scrum half.
I don't think I've ever felt as down about the Bulls as I do now. All that money spent on the team and we're still in this situation. The end of the season can't come quick enough for me. A major clean out is required. I only hope that we are already lining up quality replacements.

I'm with you on this one. I fear that if performances don't improve, the remaining crowd will get alienated further and we'll struggle to get the numbers back.

| Soward would be just the player we need at the moment. Intelligent, skilful and with the ability to unlock defences. Go on Mr. Green make the funds available and show us you really want us to have a chance of getting back into superleague. I won't hold my breath.

Addy hasn't worked at SH and never will. He's a decent ball playing LF. Addy played HB in the pitiful second half when we didn't look like scoring despite receiving about 15 pens on the bounce. I don't get this "let's get through the month" this month will either see us in the top 4 or we're out and in the shield. Its a huge month.
We've got an actual SH and people still moan. He might not be brilliant but he can't be worse than a second-rower or Mathers playing there. We're not going to sign Jamie Soward end of. If he does become available then the top SL teams in SL will want him along with the likes of Hull KR and Salford who could offer wages of around £200k.
A young HB from a decent SL side is about the best we can hope for at this stage as we cocked up on pre-season, along with Mullaney and Siejka leaving.
If Kieran Moss can offer something from the back, with an actual SH and Addy offering support from 13 we will look better.

Your posted would make perfect sense if Charnock was a SH but he's not, he's a standoff. Please tell me if the bloke can play SH because I have no idea? As much as Addy isn't a scrum half I'll be very interested to see how much better Charnock will be if played out of position than him? I would love to be proved wrong but even if we get through the next month (which we should anyway) what happens then? Gaskell comes back and we're still a team without direction.

He played SH for the saints reserves on Saturday (i think Rohan was watching him) scored 2 tries and kicked 6/9 goals.

| My only hope is that the bloke comes in and does the job and then is available until the end of the season.
I don't understand why the Bulls say it's cover for Gaskell if he's here to play SH?
I'm trying not to be negative but I can't work out the logic in some of the things the Bulls have done over the past couple of years. The Mathers and Lovegrove signings take the biscuit.

He played scrum half for Leigh. (I'd been told he was a hooker! ) Anyway, is there much/any difference between a scrum half/stand off/hooker these days?
It's not like a tea lady - now there's a real specialist role!

We don't have anyone on our books who can time a pass or put in a decent attacking kick. We'll pretty much take whatever we can get at this point!

| I confess I've never seen Charnock play, but a player who can't get a sniff at Saints even when they've shunted out Burns, and Walsh is crocked, must be well down their pecking order.
Still, beggars can't be choosers...
Let's hope he provides a bit of spark.

Didn't he only play in one game?
As for the link between standoff, scrum half and hooker being similar then it all depends on the individuals being compared. If your stand off is Danny Brough or Trent Barrett then yeah, the half back positions are similar. If it's Lee Gaskell or Danny Mcguire then they are not.

I agree with you regarding Mathers but disagree with you re Lovegrove. An excellent forward in Championship terms who never takes a backward step .I just hope he makes a full recovery from the head injury .

The head injuries that he was suffering with before we signed him?
He does look a decent player but we've loads of forwards. Some may not be as good as him but we have them. Combine Mathers and Lovegrove's salaries plus whatever cap space we have left and who knows, we may have been in a position to attract somebody like Soward.
