| Quote: roger daly "If it wasn't for Wakefield we might of got the performance of the week, beating a injury ravaged part time team, with 3 interceptions thrown in as well. Oh well, a wins a win
Seriously though hopefully it's what's needed for confidence. I think we will take any positives at the moment to improve the team'"
A win's a win Rog, onwards and upwards both happy tonight

| Today's win gives us a very good platform to build upon. Pleased with the lads today - onwards and upwards!

| Still plenty to improve on but a pleasing scoreline which might well give the players a bit more belief. Had the bounce of the ball to get some clear daylight but good to see us finish Dewsbury off in the 2nd half.

| Main thing today is getting some confidence back, we did that.
We need to spell O'Brien as he is much more effective in shorter spells.

| We did what we should be expected to do against Dewsbury, we had the run for once, but also took full advantage. We weren't great but we did the business. One step, but let's hope some sorely lacking confidence was gained, and is it too much to ask that they just do the business, as a bare minimum, every week?
How it underlined the crassness of Ferres' "underdogs" nonsense.

| Curious. He didn't do the post match interviews though. Disko did that. Didn't see the press conference or anything but it's who was on Radio Leeds an hour or so after the end of the match.

| Two weeks to sign a scrum half and competent fullback. Although Clare could make the no 1 spot his own on today's showing.
Impressive and cohesive in all aspects of the performance. Sidlow and Kavanah back for the Workington game, rock n roll.

| It was good to see some smiles back on faces. We had a bit of luck which we were due. Once we got going I thought we looked much better in attack. The Mellor try was great – players running good lines and supporting the ball carrier. Not seen the like of it in weeks.
Dews were obviously shot to bits but you can only beat what’s in front of you and we did that convincingly.

I think that's our biggest game of year. London have only lost 2 all year (us & Leigh) and both have to go down to London who i think play on an i-pitch.

| Apologies if it's already been posted, but we had 3 academy guys from last year on show in the first team and they all played well, not out of place at all. In a season of ups & downs, the academy is doing its job very well, and showing kids at our club there is a pathway to the first team.
Going forwards, I would hope this would be another prod to whoever is recruiting that we can get away with a less bloated first team squad and rely on our juniors more, like Wigan & Saints have historically done.

| When was the last time we brought a half back of any kind through? Hookers, yeah. Forwards by the bucket load. I don't recall the last time an academy product got the chance at six or seven. Was it Leon? Who left for lack of opportunity...

Good point and I agree. I think the off field upheaval has had a negative impact on who we could recruit and who we could keep in the academy up until now. I hope that we're starting to show that we're able to provide genuinely decent young players to the first team. Once we get those layers of players coming through the system each year it will really pay off.
Think Leon and Deacs were the last halfbacks we brought through to 1st team rugby.

| I don't count Deacs. I appreciate he was still a kid when he came here (from Oldham?) but he was old enough to be almost in his final form.
