| When we lost Carvell to Warrington, people were bemused. He said he went to win trophies and we all laughed. They have an owner who said I guarantee you success . We have a new owner who has promised to make us the biggest club in the game. With the stadium, the huge fan base and a club that makes money, everything is in place. That's why Lynch wants to come

| I really hope we get Lynch as he's top drawer and I was disappointed we didn't sign him from Cas. Whatever happens good luck for next season, as someone stated early SL needs a strong Bulls side.

| The biggest problem with thinking about letting Lynch go is who is going to be his replacement
I would be content, given his efforts and commitment in a failing team, for him to go and have a couple of years at the end of his career at a club where he isn't going to be expected to carry the whole pack. He'll doubtless get a decent signing on fee and a larger wage, so who could blame him. He'd go with my best wishes and thanks.
The bigger issue is what we are going to do then. We haven't got enough prop cover, even with the emergence of Tom Burgess. Scruton is ordinary, plus injury-prone, Hargreaves an average workhorse, which leaves Kopczak, who has done well but needs more 'devil' and Crossley who isn't really up to the standard required (or at least has no convinced anyone that he is)
So, given that we cannot obviously afford a fee, we are reduced to picking up scraps from the out of contract list. Presumably people like Nick Fozzard, who hardly 'wets the appetite'. Or have we got someone lined up from Oz? But then who is there in Australia who'd' want to come to a repeated non-achieving team
It's pretty worrying to be honest

If you have cap space I hear Brent Kite is looking at a possible move to SL. Big strong lad and has done everthing in the game down under.

| How much can a player make on a testimonial? 3 more years with us would get him that. Money may not be the huge factor in this move, it could be down to length of contract as someone has said.
Trophies is another factor that players put out there - Hull's chances are better than ours but still short of Wigan/Wire over the next season or two.
That leaves the old chestnuts - "stuck in a rut" , "needed a change" and possibly the most important one "just not enjoying my rugby" - and who could blame him?

Who are you the one man army?
Your club is that wonderful they have to almost give away season passes.
What's the deal gonna be next year? season passes for £10?
Lynch has being sold to FC the fact we've paid a fee concerns me.
A good player in a very poor team.
I'm the opposite to other FC supporters i'm enjoying your demise.

| Lynch is gone, we might as well get used to the idea. Hopefully we'll have a decent Aussie coming in, rumour has it we're looking at that option. Unfortunately it'd be better to build a side by adding to our better players rather than letting one go and bringing one in.

What a credit to the sport you are. Here's an idea, try saving your big talk until your team does something to back up this talk. Learn from Bradford success stories and you could push on as a club.

Well he would do....
But, I have to ask, if he's really that great and wants to come to SL why aren't Hull in for him themselves?

| So Andy Lynch has good stats because he spends longer on the pitch than our other Props. Wonder who will 'make up' those extra minutes on the pitch if/when he leaves..
As I have stated previously, our pack needed to be improved for 2012.. not weakened. Ok we might have a quota spot available in Dec.. but will a good quality Aussie/Kiwi wait around until Dec to get absolute confirmation that he can join us?
It's not so much the fear of losing Andy Lynch.. more a fear of who we'll decide to replace him with. Perhaps I've lost a little faith in our recruitment after some of the decisions the club have made in recent years.

Agree with all that. We may be rumoured to be after some decent Aussies but like you I'm far from convinced we'll get anyone with us having to wait until Nov/Dec to be sure we can fit them in.
A pack minus Lynch next season without a decent replacement doesn't bear thinking about. If the club think Morrison can plug that hole then they're deluding themselves.

Actually that might not be the case, because Sheldon from our site who's pretty up to the minute with all things NRL told me he played for Tonga early days. So I guess he'd be non fed....?
Like I say i'd take him at Hull no probs.

| We can't sign an overseas player because of this ongoing saga with Sammut. It looks like they're doing their best to screw us over with another joke ruling yet again, as if it wasn't bad enough last time with the whole James Evans situation.
But basically, if Sammut does not get his dispensation (which he probably won't) then you can forget about replacing Lynch with someone from overseas.
The only option we would have would be to use the fee we get for Lynch to buy out the contract of another prop currently in SL. Griffin perhaps? Or maybe even (whisper it quietly) Bailey?
