We haven't got a scrum half or backup. And not sure we will keep AOB or Gaskell or both. Gaskell may have said he will see his contract out but with a year to run he is a saleable asset and finances could force us to sell.

| If it is true we are after Lee Smith maybe we are looking at Mullaney at SH.
As far as Having a go at Robbie someone may put me right but I am fairly certain he is there purely as marketting director and has no say in team matters. The club does actually do very well with sponsorship and I would think he is easily paying for himself in a very important job.
I don't think Ferres and Robbies job could easily be integrated into one. For me it is Ferres who could feel unsafe as I think a good head coach and assistant should be in charge of all recruitment with the help of the chap (forgotten name) who runs the junior set up.
Ferres is probably there though more as a right hand man / adviser to Mr Green as Green is inexperienced.
If Ferres and Robbie wasn't there Green would have to depend on Jimmy and his calm and emotionless reasoning. How many people think that is the best solution.
Whatever happens in the background it all comes down to the basics of choosing the right group of players and coaching them properly. If that happens we could have Coco the clown working in the office.

Pollsters doing Excellent job - say recent polls.: |

| I always got the feeling that the RFL had been involved in Ferres appointment. One of those types of deals where Mark Green got the club but the RFL only gave their blessing once they put someone in that they could trust/influence.
I have a feeling it'll be years before we can shake off the strings that the RFL have attached to us.
The other matter of course is that a deal for the ground was supposedly nearing completion. I wonder if that'll be announced at the end of season ball.

It could also be thought that, maybe Marc wanted to get involved but realised he didn't really have enough knowledge to run a rugby club, so he went to a guy he knew who did? MG is a businessman first and foremost, so you'd expect him to do something like that.

See this is the bit I never get. because it never works, not unless you are content to be condemned to be a permanent lower-leagues club, and to use your best players as a cash cow.
For many smaller clubs, that's the reality and they want to do well, but know they can never really become a player. So they accept that, and so do their fans. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, as long as a club has ambitions within its realistic grasp. If you think about it, in both RL and soccer, there are whole divisions of clubs, both inside and outside the main leagues, where their bands of fans are happy and are not so stupid as to think that they can ever make the top grade, much less compete in it.
For us, though, that would require a major re-think, and a decision never to be a major force again. It is hard to stay near the top, but so far we have managed it. Our 2015 crowds were still amongst the best in the game. But if we choose to step down a level and become a permanent low-budget low-aspiration selling club then that would be it for me. Not because I have anything against the many (majority) of sports clubs who do not have any choice but to be that, but precisely because we do have that choice. My attitude is the Bulls have to go hell-for-leather for SL. However ambitious that is. No club can forever be an always successful club, all will have thin times. But I won't accept accepting failure.

Says the guy who for years has blindly supported the very people and managers that have gotten us into this position?
I find this a frankly baffling comment from you FA (and please spare me the lecture from the law-books, this is a rugby forum, not a Court of Law) because you were one of the most vociferous voices in support of the club when we were being sold down the river by people without our interests at heart.
You have accepted failure for years and only now it becomes an issue?
Perhaps if more was done long ago then we would not be in this mess, but we are where we are, largely thanks to the people who you defended at the time and tried to censor me for speaking out about.
Not that you will accept that of course.

| There will be no showdown, or at least not on what ME has put so far, as sadly he is using his normal tactic of making huge and sweeping generalized claims, vague to the point of scotch mist, plus self-aggrandising inventions based on his long-standing persecution delusion, all of which are just plain unsubstantiated bollox.
Arguing with him when he is in this absurd mode is like playing chess with a pigeon.

Which, roughly translated for those of you who have not swallowed a dictionary this morning means.....
"Yep, you got me there ME, but I have no answer so I will twist it back onto you as always."
Goodness knows how many times I have shown you up for being a complete hypocrite but that post really took the biscuit. You will not accept "accepting failure" will you not?
In that case you had better edit practically each and every post you have made since McNamara was in charge. Because you, my friend, have been accepting failure for years now and suddenly the light has gone on and you seem a bit surprised.
You may well be good at mesmerising people with your fancy words and language, but that still does not mean that you have the first clue about RL.

| It would be nice if we could just pretend to get on, but since we seem to have forgotten the topic and fallen into internecine warfare it seems a good place to bring the curtain down..
