Langley was poor by his standards but he's coming back from a nightmare period of injuries and needs time. It's odd there's a thread such as this when Ian Sibbitt made 13 metres from 3 carries.

THe Dragons had a very good pre season despite some injuries, they were up to speed and the Bulls were not going to match them, the Hull hit out showed that. From a distance it was an expected result, but if they are still underperforming by early March it will be a long season! There will be a couple of key issues to address that will help, first as I've said in another post in the Teams mental fragility on the pitch not having confidence in themselves and each other, not wanting to make a mistake which is making them make mistakes. The second issue is keeping injuries down to a manageable level and not having so many mid to long term ones, its happening more because the Team is playing lopsided and a few players having to try a lot harder to make up for it tends to cause injuries to happen unnecessarily. Also harking back to a Wayne Bennett quote "the first battle to win is between your ears" Thats crucially one the Team is losing at present!
Hard as it is a present you have to believe (not hope) it will come right, but it will take time

Fancy those dastardly Dragons getting up to speed for the first game, tantamount to cheating.

And according to Mick Potter seasoned professionals don't need loads of preseason games to be ready to go. . .after watching that shower at the weekend I beg to differ

If your'e referring to his comments at the forum, I agree, I also thought that was a strange thing to say and maybe I'd misunderstood, but, he seemed to imply that they'd use the first couple of games to get up to speed.

As Leeds showed last season it's how you finish that counts & it's a long season. Time will tell.

That's all very well, your guys won, but I'm getting sick and tired of watching us chasing a game in the second half when the penny finally drops that we're in the poop.

I agree it was not Langley's best game for us but he was not alone. In defence a decent 13 in attack his try illustrated where we miss for me - anyone with decent hands would have passed to purtill or kear it worked out ok but highlights to me that it is not his strength. Main thing is he stayed injury free and give him a bit of a run and he does improve, was certainly not the only dissapointing player on the field, I want him defending over with purtill and kear as the other side of the pitch seemed stronger.
hargreaves has not improved for me and I find it amazing that joseph who has had a fantastic trial and seemed ok against both super league opposition is out for him...... not scapegoating just see him as a clearer option and somone who may break the line... scruton is coming back from injury and kopczak is clearly the top prop at moment.
Sibbit was his chance to shine and unfortunatly shouted I only want to be a squad player when everyone is fit, which we know he is going to be but went behind donno and bateman for me today, langley, elima, whitehead prob first choice for back row and them with olbison, addy and walker all vying for back row he is going to have to a little more for me.
I thought both heath and disko had quiet games for them so hope for me is it was just a game we didnt turn up for.

Short and sweet. We are a lot better off with Langley in the side than without.

Remember when Langley was proof that the next generation of Bulls would be just as good?
