I know which one I would pick.
Who'd want to live their life surrounded by Australians?

Not someone who has stated he regards all Oz females as ugly bovines, I guess?
Having stood on Bondi beach myself (and a good few other places in Oz), I have to say that was very far from my impression!
Had it not been for the mothers, we would have been off to Oz like a shot 25 years ago.

| I'm not allowed to go to Aus on the premise that I would enjoy it too much and not want to leave.
They are desperate for skilled immigrants in many fields of work and for many people the allure of the job & lifestyle will be compelling

| He'll get a shock then if he goes. The cost of living there is getting pretty horrendous now... So all the Aussies living here tell me.. They say the UK. is pretty cheap compared to what they have to pay for things now over there.

Its cheap - or looks cheap - because their dollar buys 60% more over here than it did 3-4 years ago!

It is over-rated for sure. Better beaches and nicer places further up the coast. But I have been stood on Bondi Beach on a cool, very windy, drizzly, overcast July day (i.e middle of winter) - and yet I've been stood on Scarborough beach in July and its been far colder, wetter, windier than it ever was on Bondi on that July day.
Mind you...if you sit on a bog in Scarborough, whatever else happens to you you are unlikely to get some antagonistic and pretty lethal arachnid biting you on your bum...

I've never been to Aus but I used to live with a girlfriend who, like certain posters on here, would bang on about how wonderful it would be to move to Australia without knowing anything about it.
"Where in Australia, Rach?"
"Don't know. Anywhere i suppose."
FFS woman.

On the 92 tour we rolled up in Newcastle, not the Geordie one, it was a lovely late June day in the middle of their winter. We accidently ended up on the beach which was deserted. It was so nice we went for a swim. We strolled back to the hotel in our trunks to be greeted by the receptionist in a big woolie cardigan crouched in front of a 3 bar electric fire; she looked at us in astonishment & said "Are you guys for fecking real?"

| Yeh my Dad lived in Perth, Oz for awhile. I'd be out there trying to get a tan when it was "only" 25 degrees and they all thought I was nuts.
Its nice to visit but honestly going to work in that heat would not be nice.

Could have been worse - the Jellies might have got you had it been summer!

| just a thought but whiteheads agent wouldnt be our friend Mr Caisley would it? he does seem to have a habit of touting our under contract young players to Souths. Maybe its that time of year when he needs a nice agents slice of a player transfer to pay for his jollies.
