What it says is that as of right now, Leon Pryce is still a Saints player. Which even if you believe rumours, that was always the case anyway. The strongest rumour has always been that to get Pryce, a transfer fee would need to be paid. To pay that transfer fee, we'd need money from Orford compensation. Since that clearly hasn't happened yet, I think it's perfectly safe to assume that Leon is a Saints player.

If the Bulls were to stump up that money, then that may change. It wouldn't be the first team someone has been announced in the squad list and then left before the start of the season. All it means is that as of right now, Leon Pryce is a Saints player. That may or may not change, who knows?

Saints are doing the right thing though by announcing numbers early enough that people buying a shirt can have them printed. Wire have just done the same. IF (and it's a big if) there was a potential deal that hasn't been concluded yet, they can't just hold off announcing the numbers to see if anything comes off or not.

were't we in exactly same situation a year or two back (cant remember player though). We announced numbers then a player subsequently left and club had to do refunds to anyone who'd put that player on their shirt. Or was that leeds? certainly rings a bell.

dont post v often but cant resist , was told 6 week ago from a close "Pryce" scourse that leon will sign for us 2011 , but was all dependent on us finalising details of orfords release , not sure if this means we getting 80k for orford , but all seems to be falling into place !!!
