yeah and i used to go to every home and away game, to have a user on this board say that people on who watch it on sky at home or whatever there doing is ludicris (sp), has been a decline in attendances for the past couple of seasons, were getting rid of the glory hunters or city supporters and we are now finding out who the die hard fans are, if it wasnt for operations in foreign countries i would of been there last night

Ryan's overstated his point, but he does have one. If people had stuck with the Bulls rather than melting away since 2003, we'd be in a much stronger position.

| As a Hull FC fan watching the match on tele...just in case anyone is concerned?! I was pretty shocked by that Bradford performance, but maybe the injuries are the root cause?? Even though you aint won any games, surely you must have had a better kicking game than that this season? Reckon you will give us a good game next week, cos your team will want to repay their fans!

No he hasn't. He is simply trotting out the same rubbish as a few on here have made recently.

So back to type then - his opinion has no value because it does not accord with yours? You could not wait to get on here to show you were right, could you? [sizeEven if after last night your argument has gathered considerably more weight... [/size
IMO some of Ryan's comments were unfair and ill-considered - as I'm sure in the cold light of day he will have realised. I'm sure he'll be considering clarifying his comments to make it more clear who and what he was getting at, as I'm sure he intended no slight to folks like Bennett.
But they were clearly made out of frustration and passion, and he has as much right to make his point as you have.
After last night, I doubt many on here - myself included - will feel entirely rational in what they say for some time - cos every true fan will feel absolutely gutted. So I suggest allowances are made all-round? I don't think it will reflect well on those who are shouting "I told you so" at every opportunity, any more than it will reflect well on anyone who seeks to blindly defend the indefensible.

I agree 100% with your point. I just did not think it had anything to do with one made by Ryan at the start of the thread.

| I think it does, even if he did not make it explicit. It is hypocritical of people not making their best effort to support the club to criticise players for doing similar. Sure plenty of people have good reason not to go to Wigan on a Friday night. But we all know there is a signficant percentage that just can't be ar5ed, are not interested in getting behind the club during the lean times yet would have showed up if we were as strong as we were a few years ago.

What about those of us who have been made redundant and can`t spare the cash to go and whatch a very poor team give yet another very poor effort. If i make the effort & the sacrifice of much needed money to go to casvagas on the 29th, do you think I`l see any improvement?, not under this coach.
Sorry Macca, time to go.
TAXI FOR MACCA.

Andrew, in fairness we are comparing people who play the game for a living - who get paid for doing it and so would be expected to give their best - with people who pay to watch the game, so I'm not sure the comparison and label is entirely fair?
What IS entirely fair and reasonable IMO is challenging people who see the problem - and the solution - as one-dimensional. In fact (as you observe), the problem has been building up for several years, well pre-dating Macca as Head Coach, is largely financial regardless of what some denialists might say, and the falling support has had a lot to do with that. And the resolution is likely to take years too. Trouble is, its a classic Catch-22 situation.

| So after ive had time to kind of calm down and look back over the game again, i just cant see this season getting any better with macnamara now.
He has completley destroyed a once fantastic team, ok players like Pryce, Peacock etc were already gone when he arrived but the doss he has brought in is unbelievable!
Last night we lacked pace, power, simple ball handling skills etc and would have been beat by any of the other super league teams, goodness knows what score it would have been if we had played Leeds!
The team lacks leadership on the field and off it. We dont have a Jimmy Lowes type player that can rally the team. And im sorry but Deacon is not a good scrum half any more let alone a captain!! He lacks so much creativity. We miss speed in the backs and now get bashed about in the forwards when we should be one of the strongest packs in the league! We are missing Lynchy massivley!
Fair enough we have had some rotten luck with injuries so far this season but that should give the youngsters a chance to play! Macnamara will not blood youngsters for some stupid reason, point of proof is shown with Dave Halley. Why we let him go is beyond me!
So, looking to the future and the rest of the season, the only person i can see being able to turn this shower of s**t round is Ellery Hanley! Did cracking job at Doncaster last season and would certainly start to ruffle some feathers up at Odsal!
I will obviously carry on attending the games but what with the credit crunch, its just waisted money!
