Even if they were insured, why risk an injury that would scupper your chances of continued employment as a professional sportsman? Frankly, many of the remaining unsigned ex Bulls are almost certainly in talks with one club or another and will be weighing up their options. Quite rightly they need to make sure they are uninjured when/if they decide their best move is to join a new team. And who would really begrudge them that given what they've been through?

But they would have been contracted to the Bulls. Presumably they would have continued to pay the player and then claim it from insurance. In the one off game they are not employed and so if injured they would have no salary if injured.

I agree. I am just saying what Leon said. The reason the game isn't going ahead on Sunday is because they didn't have enough time players. Insurance wasn't an issue. That's what he said on radio.
