| Briggs has the ability. But for some unknown reason just doesn't get the chances. If we are getting rid of him I hope we do it at the end of the year so Southernwood can come into contention.

| Update on my earlier post...
Quote: "Featherstone are unveiling a new signing on Sunday at their friendly with Oldham. One which to quote the club, 'signals their intent'. Whether Kyle Briggs fits into the category...'"
Jamie Rooney and Keith Senior are also rumoured as 'the big name'.

| If Briggs does go then I don't think he'll be missed. Attacking wise he was average and defensively he was awful. There may be other members of the squad in the same boat and I hope they're offloaded at some stage too but for now if it is Briggs then fair enough. Joseph's probably needed more as we're light in the forwards.

Pretty arrogant for a fan of a mediocre Super League club that has to be bailed out by the RFL to keep their own ground aren't we? Briggs will be one of the best players in the Championship. If Bradford actually signed a decent player for once that had the potential to be the best player in Super League I'm sure you'd be pretty happy about it too.

| Quote: Adeybull "Hood said at the forum that we were at the cap limit because of signing Pryce.
So where did we get the cap space to sign Joseph?
I also noted Briggs had the lowest number shirt other than latecomer Pryce.
I'm tempted to say "go figure?" but it would only be speculation.'"
I got the impression from PH on Wednesday that Phil was signed a while ago maybe even before Karl.
Didn't he say something about trials having to be for four weeks, not four matches, and how pointless it was before the season as his trial period would have run out before he'd played a game. I'm sure he said they'd given him a years deal at the time.

he did say that. he also mentioned there was something in the contract to end it if they weren't happy. Joseph was happy to take up that option.

Have I missed something here?
The quote about 'signalling intent' and 'the big name' were taken from an official Featherstone press release which I have seen, hence the quotations. I wish Featherstone well, I was merely adding some information to the rumours. And if it turns out to be Briggs (or Rooney or Senior for that matter) then it can only be good for your club.
In the words of Michael Winner...

what did you seriously expect when you cast a sleight on the championship?? A [i"that was a brilliant post sir. Fancy moving up a gear and giving us a proper slating cos we'd love that"???? [/i type of post???
Due to the politics of the game, we have to recruit what we can given the monies we're allowed to spend. I could have won the euromillions last night and gave it all to Fev...... the salary cap would still apply!
He is what he is. Briggsy will be one of the best halves in the championship. The reasons we can't field potential England players have been well argued elsewhere over and over again!
Briggsy hasn't been given a fair crack at Bradford IMO as opposed to others i.e. Zac at Leeds. I'm sad for the lad it didn't work for him but he left fev a cracking terms and I'm delighted to have him back.

Is this definite then? Because if so I'm gutted that he's gone. I totally agree with you that he hasn't been given a fair crack, it's appalling that Jeffries is in front of him. He never let anyone down in a Bradford shirt, I remember him performing above average on several occasions last year. Hopefully it's just a loan signing and we can keep faith in him.
