It's different in that it's not a registered charity. Which is why I suggest going via Bullbuilder instead.

| Just a question of those of us who contribute to the weekly lottery. No confirmation ,written or otherwise, regarding it's present situation.Obviously no communication through the Bulls official channels. The monies keep going in and no weekly payouts as far as I am aware, subsequently, have all such contributions disappeared into oblivion or are they held safe towards funding youth development etc.I would not wish in the latter situation, to cancel my direct debit. Therefore I wonder what others have done with regards to their subscriptions. Not sure whether or not it expired along with the Club.

| Quote: HamsterChops "I don't, but I'm sure they would be happy to liaise with Batley if it was the best way of processing the money to ensure it got sorted.'"
If the friendly could be classed as a charity event then in theory gate sales wouldn't be eligible for VAT, however i don't think that this would be allowed as its primary purpose would be a standard sporting event with the majority of proceeds going to batleys company. The amount payable to the players could be paid to a charity, but if they were to then turn it straight over to the players then that would be tax evasion. The money could be paid to BB, but it would have to be used to support their organisational aims (bit of a vague answer but i don't know much about the workings of bullbuilder).
Quote: HamsterChops " Why would it be income tax? Batley are not paying them as employees? Therefore it is not an income. If I transferred you some money via a bank transfer, it isn't taxable.'"
The players would potentially be classed as self employed so income tax would apply based on the profits they make through the provision of their services. Batley wouldn't pay the income tax, that would be on the players to arrange. If you were to transfer me money in return for me providing a service then it would be taxable.

Apparently, can't raise a team. I suspect not enough people willing to play with either no insurance or no adequate insurance. Not surprised frankly - anyone getting a serious injury would end up not getting a contract either with us or someone else

Potentially is the word there. They wouldn't be self employed. They are unemployed. No links to employment anywhere. They aren't 'earning' the money through work and labour and then paid by employees. They have been invited to play/represent a select XI without pay (unless RL Cares have paid this months wages like they did in December).
Batley would pay income tax on the money earned from the gates. For example they earn £100,000 on the gate. They pay (for example) 10% VAT. So £10,000 goes to HMRC. They have £90,000 profit. Batley would then be giving £45,000 of their profit away to the players and staff of Bradford who are unemployed. They are not paying for a service as this implies employment, they are not paying for their labour and employment. They are offering a gift of money. That money has already been taxed. It won't be taxed again.
Anyway this debate is mute as the game is off haha.
On another note I hope this doesn't affect Batley too much in terms of money lost and spare a thought for Ravensport? for preparing a kit for us for free as well. Hope it didn't cost them too much!

From what I was told, 3 more players have left Today and the remaining weren't willing to risk injury in case they get chance to move on.
I trust my source on this, but I have got it second hand.

The kit was ready to print, but on hold until the game was confirmed 100%
All it's cost is some time thankfully.

| Well that's it then in my opinion.
We can't get a team together in 2 weeks. I was just hoping the rest would stay but i can't blame them for moving on. The need a wage.

| To think of the time spent going nowhere to this point is crazy, when the urgency needed as pre-season was approaching must have been apparent to all.

| If we really have seen more departures today then the new owners must insist we start in L1. There is little left to salvage from the squad and avoiding relegation would be almost impossible. Ffs give the long suffering fans a break.
