It's ludicrous to be hung up on this.
52% of what I think was the highest turnout ever for any vote in British politics, and many are still squabbling over the 20% that couldn't be ar*ed to vote. Move on.
PS I voted remain.
I will be spoiling my ballot and probably draw swastikas next to the BNP/NF candidates along the way in a silent protest.

| I'd rather have 5 years of Corbyn than have that dead eyed, rancid troll bitch destroy the country to further her own wealth and agenda..... Yes I think Corbyn is a sackless but vote Tory? NEVER.
And I hope I see the day when the young take back their future and vote back into the EU. This whole, 'it's done, get over it snowflake, it's democracy' is and the very antithesis of democracy. But still we got rid of those elitist t055ers didn't we? FFS!
And FA...all those times I've driven through there and not counted... It's gonna keep me awake at night now... Though Six Lane Ends is in Liversedge, we'd need a new name to avoid confusion...Or we could build a new fake lane onto it and call it 7 lane ends?
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's better....

It was still a p!ss-pot turnout in all honesty.
Ask us Jocks, we got about 88% for IndyRef.
However, with elections every fortnight or so I reckon the next turnout will be one of the lowest of all time.

To be fair I am a massive fan of some of the present Labour policies.
Problem is that people vote for the person not the party - not surprising given the media character assassination of Corbyn since he became leader.
If the media actually covered the policies then Labour would stand a much better chance.

This election has little to do with Brexit, it is an opportunity to increase their majority to >100 seats to enable them to push through even more extreme policies that they would struggle to get through with the current majority. I feel better now.'"
Couldn't agree more TT.
The right wing of the tory party, and indeed UKIP, have no real interest in leaving Europe, indeed the trade and doing business part of membership is something they don't want to lose at all. What they want to leave is the social aspect, the workers rights and environmental laws. They dress it up as a move to stop foreign workers 'stealing jobs' just to get the 'pleb' vote, even though they know full well the biggest reason for lost jobs is globalisation and mechanisation.
May is doing the obvious thing in calling the election: the Tories can soon get the money in from big business and foriegn donors, they know they will always get rabbid support from the Murdoch and Rothermere tabloids, Labour is in turmoil, Lib Dems, nowhere near ready, UKIP a dead duck and no-one else really mattering - hardly sure UKIP matter, except to a few in the Tory party, so it's difficult to really blame her for doing what politicians do naturally - putting themselves first.
Hope she gets the mother of al kickings though.

| Not a surprise really, the only national opposition party has self destructed and if she waited till 2020 the impact of the Brexit disaster will be so clear even some Mail readers will realize it was wrong. Bulliac spot on with the reality of what that snake Farage meant by taking back control.
I would recommend jumping ship but most of the countries you would want to move to are busy pulling up their own drawbridges at the moment. Tough being a liberal Bulls supporter even from the other side of the world.

| Out of interest, why do people find Corbyn so 'unelectable?
Genuine question - I challenged a couple of friends on this who were unable to come up with a valid reason. I think a lot of people base their views on what they read in the press but don't have any real substance behind it.

Zero leadership skills, total lack of charisma, narrow second rate team of Islington champagne socialists and tired old trots, lifetime of protest with no joined up positive, practical program, totally out of touch with majority of electorate who can be bothered to turn out and vote, and his equivocal attitude to the Brexit vote handed the referendum to that small % of racists who tipped the balance. And I am a Guardian reading party member so you can imagine what the majority of voters feel, and as you point out he is already been trashed by the media.

| Will be voting for my local Labour candidate and not for JC (he's not the messiah, just the hipsters' choice and a massive #*?!).
For anyone disappointed on June 8th, don't worry, we can cheer ourselves up at home to Fev on the Sunday...

What are people voting for? Most people won't have much clue about his policies, only what they read in the right-wing gutter press. Not that they have had to spin much, he is never there arguing his point. I heard him this morning trying to sound passionate for the first time. It just doesn't work, it's not his style. He is no doubt a committed local politician but as a leader & inspiration he is anonymous. May is equally vacuous, but with a hidden nasty side, but she has the press spinning her perverted message for her.

| Quote: Bull Mania "Can't bring myself to vote for Corbyn and Labour who have become a party for know it all activists who paint pretty posters, get excited at going on a protest march, failed at life, blame everyone else for it, but provide no real answers to the problems
Not from me. I am from a labour voting family but have worked and paid my way all of my life and can't stand the way people expect to be given things for nothing and blame everyone else for everything. I was brought up to look after myself and stand on my own two feet. That's why I can't vote labour - along with the unelectable team of people they have - although I did vote for them in the past. Massive shame Smith died. Five people from my family have needed very important operations in the last two years and have received excellent treatment from our excellent but over-run NHS. Any party that describes it as a "third world" service will not get my vote. Just stop the third of people going to A and E who shouldn't be going - that will help solve the problem. Throwing money at problems doesn't always help - solve the basic problems first.
As far as Brexit, unfortunately it is all about Brexit when it should be about many other things. We are leaving and all I want is for the government to get on with it. And, for me, leaving really did mean leave completely. That was clear to me from day one. Time for breakfast now. I don't know whether to have a soft breakfast or a hard breakfast. Maybe I should ask a politician.

My two nieces played hell about the result of the referendum. It then came out in conversation that neither of them voted.
I proceeded to bollock them both for being too bloody bone idle and should shut up complaining about people who did vote and in future they should vote for what they believe in.
I work with younger people and find this attitude far too much. They need to put their phones down and do something about what they believe in - just like the older ones do. Everyone must vote but then abide by the result. Spitting out dummies doesn't work. We don't all agree so we go along with the majority and complain about it over a pint and scratchings.
