| Injuries will probably dictate where Blythe plays. I suppose we should be grateful for his versatility.
I'm thinking that FC is more likely to start with Purtell in the centres, if only to try and get his money's worth.

That was my thinking too. Purtell and Henry are likely to be our first choice centres, at least at first. I wouldn't be surprised to see Blythe in the second row, especially with Winterstein no longer an option. I think that may be his best position anyway.

| I thought Blythe looked good in the second row in the few games I got to see. What swap him into the second row and Addy to loose from the previous team sheet. Think that would also take pressure off O'Brien with Addy at loose rather than Chev.

Agree we need Henry to be a successful signing. Hopefully he'll be more like Lulia than Platt/Sykes.
A lot rests on O'Brien this year too.'"
I'd forgot Gale was even there.

| Would be happier with addy at loose and Donno in the 2nd just to give us the option and on other kicking game.
Can't Henry also play at 6 sure I heard this elsewhere?

| Yeah he's played in the halves before, not sure how many times or how successful he was though.
But with Gale, Sammut, Gaskell, Addy and even Kearney all capable of playing there, I'd say we'd have to be in some serious trouble injury wise before we see Henry at 6.

| Agree with above I doubt we'll need to utilise Henry as a halfback. And if Purtell is selected at centre I would still want Blythe in the 17 - he runs the ball very hard.

They said the same about Ah Van when he first turned up over here.

| Kearney, Kear, Blythe, Henry, Foster, Gaskell, Sammut, Scruton, Diskin, Carvell, Ferguson, Walker, Addy is what I would choose.
I think it will be more like this though.
Kearney, Kear, Blythe, Henry, Foster, Gaskell, Gale, Scruton, Disk in, Manese, Ferguson, Olbison, Walker

Sat 9th March 2013 V Illawara cutters plays at 6, 16th March shirt number 4 but in squad list at 6 likewise 14th April conversely 4th May shirt number 6 but on list at 4. rest of the season played mostly 2 or 4. those are from match details on the Jets website.
Wikipedia: primarily wing but can also play at centre and five eigths.
For some good centre play check out the youtube highlights video. In summary hes a 2- 5, 6 and 7 in emergencies (and no doubt 1).
But can he tackle?

| I'm really hoping we sign Ben Evans, think he has some good potential. What we are doing with Warrington seems to somewhat similar to when Huddersfield took all those Wiganers who were on the cusp of their first team squad but just couldn't quite make it. They're good players and they've been developed well, which compliments our own development pathway and other outside signings.

We took 3 players directly from Wigan. Aspers and Wild had averaged 20 games a season for the 5 years before they signed. Aspers had played 2/3 games for England (now England Knghts) while Wild had England and GB caps before signing. Brown had also averaged around 20 games a season in the 3.5 seasons prior to joining the Giants. [ Other 'Wigan' players such as Robbo and Hodgson were very experienced and came via one or more other clubs].

| We are talking about taking other teams young players that they have developed. If they turn out really well it will be good business. One thing that annoys me a little with some Bulls fans is that they remember every player we sell who then makes it but somehow seem to forget the young players we sign. Their original clubs supporters will then say the same. We didn't bring through Deacs and Robbie as kids. We are now wanting Evans along with Foster, Gaskell and possibly one or two of these three wire to make it with us. The point I am making is that all clubs lose youngsters for whatever reason and they then make it big. It happens and we should not dwell too much on it if ours do well elsewhere. I don't know these lads from wire but I bet they have been taught well and would benefit us if we could keep one or two.

| Very true Woolly. We've had lots who couldn't nail down a starting spot [or even get into the team at all] who moved on and developed into fine players. It's always happened, from years back such as Paul Harkin and more currently such as Ryan Atkins et al. It tends to happen mostly to the better teams but it's just life.
