I listened to Ian Lenaghan on the radio 4 sports bulletin yesterday morning and thought he came over pretty well to be honest.

He was speaking specifically about the Tomkins move, of course, but he put across a very solid [and sensible] position of where the UK lies in the world of RL and sport in general and talked well about the game to a bunch of people who are principally of the 15-a-side persuasion, so I give the guy a lot of credit. Agree that some people are too much up their own 'arris though..

Wire, but with Briers not being able to play and Carvell being man of the match. Through a process of elimination really, Can't bring myself to want Leeds or Shudds, really not keen on Wigans "style" of play so that leaves Warrington. Go Wolves.

The chip on shoulder fans really grate. But lets be honest, we baited them year on year and helped build that chip so I have to be quite sanguine about it coming back.

If it were a Leeds v Warrington final i'd be bored to tears, Wigan V Warrington I won't even watch because I just don't give a stuff.

I can guarantee that if the rugby Gods exist & Leeds stuff Wigan the Pie board will be full of inbred hillbillies saying how the game is corrupt, how the top 8 is a disgrace & a joke, how they are dissilusioned with the game, how they will not be renewing their season ticket after 148 years, how only they tried all season, how the RFL should have paid to keep Tomkins, how the salary cap is preventing Wigan from winning everything etc.

What chip do us Giants fan have on our shoulders? The 81 year chip that's been there since the last time we won the league or the chip that's been there since we finished bottom of the league so many times in SL and being on the end of some right drubbings by many a SL team over the summer era.

It must be just me and the odd few others, but if it came down to a Yorkshire club versus anyone else in a final I'd go for the Yorkshire club.

Anyone apart from Leeds for me... and not because of the rivalry with Leeds but because I am going to the GF again this year and I don't want to see Leeds in the final again!

After us I don't really mind who wins it as long as its a good game and the best team overall wins it or a team that deserves to win it. Any combo of Giants/Wigan/Wolves final would be good for me.

Its not that were getting "too big for our own boots" though is it... Its called enjoying a bit of success that we haven't had in a long time

I voted Huddersfield, but it's almost the best of a bad bunch in some ways.

The Bradford-Leeds thing doesn't bother me in that respect, I just want to see a new name on the trophy. I don't really want to see a second Warrington v Leeds Grand Final again so soon. And the evil sod in me thinks it'd be funny for Morley to walk in with his GF ring on the last day, and Briers with a GF ring would be unbearable. Wigan, meh, have their own set of tool fans and I'm not sure Huddersfield will keep up the run at the top (similar to Hull FC in 2006 if you will).

I personally hope that if it can't be us, (yet again), then Huddersfield, who have played some cracking rugby this year, should be the ones to take the trophy home to a proper Yorkshire town!

Are you really getting your knickers in a twist over fans of a team from BRADFORD not wanting a team from LEEDS to win the final? Seriously?

I kinda think that's how local rivalry works unless I'm missing something. It isn't as if we've said we want your club to go bust.
