tend to agree. think he needs a full week training with squad as a bare minimum before being considered. We've spent the last few weeks training with jeffries/deacon as the halves combo and it'd be a bit silly to change that a day or two before the game for player possibly suffering jet lag and definitely missing match fitness. Plus it would be very harsh on jeffries.
Now against huddersfield in a couple of weeks is a different matter. If jeffries goes well this week then maybe use langley as an out and out prop while lynch is out and bird at 13.

Whilst I agree about not fast tracking him into the starting line up, a bench spot may be considered.

I am sure the Bulls marketing could use the 'Beaver and Bird' home debut's to try and get a good opening attendance. Hull KR usually travel pretty well, so the club will no doubt be disappointed with anything less than 11-12k.

true but they could market beavers home debut this week followed by bird the next home game so get two good gates instead of one ( although the innuendo isnt as good )

hardly - just dont see a desperate need to throw him in cold for a game we've been preparing for all week without the benefit of training with the squad. Give him a week to at least do some training and learn some of our plays. Wouldnt hurt to give him a chance to acclimatise to the slightly different weather conditions either

reading the yep article he's already got his work permit and is only waiting on visa. Whilst he may be here for the kr game cant see him playing. Whilst he's undoubtedly a better player than jeffries, until a couple of weeks ago we were looking at playing the entire season with jeffries so its not like we have no option but to play bird.

I would imagine that he'd go straight into the squad. however, if he's got his visa and everything but gets here less than 48 hours before kick-off then I'd think give him till the following week so he's got time to adjust to his new surroundings and meet his teams as well as get a proper training season with the team under his belt before throwing him in the deep end
