Paul Deacon? Now where do I start? Clearly the "babyfaced assasin" must have been there in order to attract all the ladies to the club. Sex sells after all and for those who tired of the Paul brothers, or for that matter, felt a bit Jimmy Saville and like the boyish looks, then Deacs was the man. So what if he was slow, uncreative, never scored any tries, he was eye candy for the poor and needy out there. HE SOLD SHIRTS!!!! The amount of Miss Deacon's we saw out there was ridiculous (even better cos it cost extra for the four letters in "Miss"icon_wink.gif.

Plus, it is quite a well known secret that he had managed to get his hands onto some rather revealing photographs that was taken of a leading club figure, in a compromising position with a goat. Basically our young assassin from across the Pennines used these to his advantage as he bribed the hierarchy to guarantee him a start every week or risk these photos being "leaked" to the media. (These very same photos were then passed onto a then "up-coming coach" who also benefitted from their existence and forged an unlikely career within the club. Ownership certainly WAS power in this case.

People were fooled by this charlatan who was not good enough for the worst Wigan side in living memory. OK so he could add the extras after 12 other men did the hard work and got the TRY in but he was no more than a glory-taker than Englands' finest rugby show stealer, Jonny Wilkinson. Both decidedly average players with a lucky gift of a decent foot and a good set of forwards doing the ugly work for him.

He was given a testimonial by the club in order to repay him for his service to the Bulls. He made about £3.50, an Irish 10p piece, three Irn Bru bottles (with 30p deposit on each of them) and a map showing the direction from Odsal to Headingley in a hastily arranged whip-round held in his honour. It was too much.

In the circumstances of the round, and taking into account mystic eddie's eloquent plea for salvation, plus his endearing admission that it was he who contributed the empty Irn Bru bottles to Deac's testimonial, I think it would be manifestly wrong, nay, even cruel, to still eliminate any player from this round. It may just be a surfeit of the Christmas spirit, but my decision is that all lives are re-instated and all players move on to the next round.

As debaser survives, he resumes the captaincy of CRAT.

And now, this competition is so plainly going to the dogs.

However, as I know nothing about horses, and indeed think that horse races is cruel I refuse to enter this round, so feel free to evict me, now that I've caused a fuss.
