| The irony being that if franchising was still here, you (or more likely Leigh) would have our place already sewn up.
Let's see what happens when the only criteria is on the field!

I've never considered this competition to be like P&R. Winning 'on the field' is very unlikely in any normal sense as the SL club, with more money invested in the team and playing all season at a higher level, has a clear advantage. We were fortunate last season, in as much as with there being no promoted club to pillage all our players, we managed to hold onto a number of SL experienced players, some of them young and with their best years still to come, so I accept we maybe have a slightly better chance than might be available to a future club coming into this situation. There are also many, not necessarily in Bradford who, perhaps unkindly, also say Wakey are there for the taking.
Personally, I'm under no illusions about the game on Saturday. After a year of playing championship football, with referees who insist on playing to the speed of the slowest team, there is no doubt who the favourites are for this competition - and it ain't the Bulls! It is though, a 'one-off' game and anything [ican[/i happen, so let's hope for a good game and all of us leaving as friends!

Wakefield have to start this game as big favourite's. Every SL team, baring Salford has done a job on us in these Qualifiers including Wakefield and theyre at home. I haven't seen anything from Bradford to suggest that we will come away with a win.
Having said that, if the Bulls turn up and play as well as we know they can then they most definitely can win. We've only seen them play like that 3 or 4 times this season. It all depends how they react to the one game that the whole season has been building towards. Will they freeze or will they rise to the challenge like we know they can. I have no bloody idea...

I don't think you can enforce segregation in a stadium that hasn't been designed to be segregated and when you don't know how many away fans have bought tickets. Particularly when that stadium has one big standing area and two smaller terraces.
It has to be "voluntary segregation" with the North Stand acting partly as an overflow stand.

Has ODSAL been designed as a segregated area?
Every year I have been,we have respected that the vocal bulls support is behind the dugouts and have stood,(like every other away fan) behind the sicks,(with a shocking view).
Should you bring 3K support, they will easy fit in the western/north west terrace. As been the case with cas/rhinos.

Sorry just need to pull you up on this.
We have played in Superleague when Hull KR and Huddersfield fans have tended to stand down that side without any issues.
We've played pretty much every home game with the end shut without any issues.
There are no shocking views in the ground. It's totally unrestricted and you can see the whole pitch.

| Tbf he said he stood behind the sicks. If their fans had understandably all vomited in a big pile, it is bound to restrict the view

So are you saying away fans generally stand behind the sticks?
Prior to the game you refer to did the Bulls fans bang on and on that you MUST stand behind the sticks or did you just assume this? A ticket into Odsal is for ground admission the same as Wakefield. Nobody has told away fans to stand in any particular area. The away fans have chosen to make that area their own and most grounds away end is also behind the goal.

| I personally upon arrival at Belle Vue would just stand where the stewards tell me and/or due to what I've read on here on the Western Terrace.
Given how sensitive the Wakefield fans appear to be about where we stand. It's all getting really childish it's not football in the 80's with people trying to take their end and I'd rather the talk was about the match not this small minded rubbish.

I think the majority of Bulls fans will do likewise but as my wife is vertically challenged,if she is not able to see the game we will find an alternative spot where she can see, simple.

Actually Odsal [iwas[/i 'designed' as a segregation area. At least, it was converted into one when Bradford City played there after the fire. The metal fences are still there from top to bottom , splitting off the pop terrace into sections, Soz, I mean, The Northern Terrace as it is now called [even though it's basically on the Western side of the ground - if you're from Wakey ...don't ask!].
There is no segregation for rugby though and entry is free to all from the top of the terrace, if you want to go further along the terrace you have to go back up to the top and round the fence. Most away fans seem to choose the Rooley end, even though it is the longest view, though some [eg. Giants] seem to congregate on the Touchdown Bar side of the pop terrace. All the terracing at Odsal is deep enough for anyone, who is near average height, to see all the touch and dead ball lines from anywhere in the ground, which is not something you cans say about many standing areas.

You'll be lucky on the West terrace, unless you get right up to the fence at the front and then you'll be a boot height, which isn't my favourite position to watch a game. The more folk crammed in the worse is the view - I'm pretty much average for a bloke, just over 5'10", or so but I'm lucky to see half the field from that vantage point. Behind the posts is better, but you can't see anything over the goal line even there. Wonder if they'll have big screen, with it being like a final?

I'm not aware of the club ever trying to enforce segregation at Odsal.
