| Some way too harsh judgments on here. It was an excellent game, but the essential difference is that Toronto have far more firepower and invention to call on than we do, and when they let the ball move, we found it too hard to defend against. They looked good.
It is therefore to our great credit that we kept them relatively quiet fopr as long as we did, and deservedly won the fitrst half by a long way.
We showed a load of committment and desire, in the end we came up short of the class that Toronto have, but they are a half decent SL team already, and to lose to them was absolutely no disgrace.
It was good to see the substantial contingent from Toronto as well, I was rubbing my eyes at the centre stand being full!

You should have carried on viewing, you missed a couple of well worked Toronto tries in that time !

| I really enjoyed the game today. It was a game worthy of Sky coverage and, to be totally honest, the scoreline and winning team just about refelected the game as a whole.
The difference in the two teams was that clearly their skill set is way above ours, but we matched them for sheer effort. A few of our guys put in some big minutes - Webster, Crossley, Wildie, Lilley, all played their hearts out.
Pity about a top 5 finish looking like a lost cause now, but in reality, 6th place is about the right position for us, if we can win our last games including turning over Sheffield

| If you'd have offered me a 6th place finish at the start of this season, without any off field drama I'd have bitten your hand off!
It's a shame the second half of that statement appears to be unraveling

| My only question is what to Toronto have to do to get a player yellow carded? TBH, there were 3 instances today that should have called for a sinbin but the ref just gave the player (same one twice) a telling off for being a silly boy and then left it at that.

| Toronto are essentially an SL side playing in the championship. The majority if not all have played SL or NRL and not just run of the mill types but players who have won major silverware.
Class first half efforts from the boys. Just felt a few individual errors cost us. Kear sending the kicking tee on when we were 3 down but the lads ignored it and Keyes dropped the ball. That makes it a 1 point game. Next penalty we got we kicked.
Short kick off with 18? to go was daft, only 3 points in it.
Pickersgill with a howler in defence when Miloudi broke through.
I'll be honest I don't understand why we went with one prop on the bench.
Positives:
5 point loss against Toronto I would have taken before the game. Webster was class. Hitchcox was great (other than Toronto's last try?). Pack busted a gut and I thought Lilley attacked the line more too.

I'd have said the professional foul on Lilley? deserved a yellow.

| Really enjoyed the game today, first half we would have given any team a scare, second half the wheels fell off but couldn't fault the effort and commitment from all 17. Just watched the game back and a lot bag Pickersgill but for a young player to me he didn't do much wrong.

| Must say I think some people need to manage their expectations of the team. I thought we were excellent in the 1st half. We started a bit slow but for 30mins we were much the better team. Unfortunately in that humidity it was going to be tough to play with that intensity in the second half as well. Toronto showed why they are the best side in the comp by taking a their chances.
We had a fair bit of field position in the second half but didn’t really take advantage. It was a close game and had we got the ball to our wings with a bit of space it might have been different. Great effort from the team.

| Thoroughly enjoyed the game. Effort was there for all to see and thought we really took the game to them. What a lot of the performances this year have screamed to me is we genuinely aren't far off. I think a couple mre battle hardened championship props, a hooker to replace Wildie should he go (how good was Andy Ackers by the way) and an experienced full back (athough I do think Brown could be the man) we could be there or there abouts if we are a bit more mentally strong at times

| Jake Webster take a bow! Three times in the first 20 he hit their centre like a freight train, third time was a knock on and you could see clearly from the standside that, as the ball came to him he was looking for Jake.
I think we were knackered with 20 to go. I know a lot of SM warriors are going loopy at taking the two the second time round but there was no way we had the energy to get through. The only regret was not taking the first penalty and getting the damn ball back at 20-21.
As for Pick I don't think he lacks the skill but sadly he's a bit shy. Ball on the floor in front of him and he daren't run and slide towards and grab like a Withers or Wellens would do, he panics and fluffs it. I don't think you can coach him to be fearless. It's like being scared of a fast bowler. You either front up or back away. Sadly a couple of times yesterday Pick was wafting from square leg.

Agree with all that. Webster was immense. He’s got another year with us and he’ll be a heck of a man to replace after that.
I also thought we fluffed it not taking the first penalty in the 2nd half which was very kickable. I’m sure I saw Kear indicate to go for the 2 points but we ran it and blew it.
On Pickersgill he backs up very well as was showed when he was involved in the Webster try. However there’s a lot more to fullback than support play. His attempted “tackle” when they broke through at the ruck was awful. I have my heart in my mouth when he’s faced with kicks too. He knocked on when he wasn’t decisive enough to deal with a bobbling ball in the first half. He seemed to think about diving on it then thought again and that indecision made him c0ck it up. In the second half the high kick to the corner where they scored he had his feet planted on the ground even though he had a run up to take it. That meant the Toronto tryscorer had a free catch. Coming into the line I can see what he’s trying to do but for me he runs to laterally and never draws a man or creates space for players outside him.
He’s a lot to work on if he wants to make the position his own.

| Wasn't that Hitchcox who got outjumped at the end? Why would Pickers be fielding a kick to the winger?
Ryan seems to be bulletproof on here but he's been making a lot of errors recently and they're crucial ones too. Pretty much cost us the game against York and he dropped another bomb yesterday which Toronto scored from. I'm sure it's no coincidence that his form has dropped since his future (away from the club) was sorted out.
