| Just as an observation, seeing as we are limiting it to people we've seen play, is just how young quite a few of the posters on this forum seem to be...
I could never seriously put Sprogger Spruce (good though he was) above 'Sir' Keith Mumby for example
And little mention of Barry Seabourne (as a player, I should add), Jimmy Thompson, Jeff Grayshon, Paul Newlove, Dave Stockwell, Bob Haigh, Peter Roe, Dave Redfearn, Berwyn Jones, Eddie Tees etc.
Oh well, I'm probably getting long in the tooth

Matt Orford isn't fit to lace Robbie Paul's flip flops. Not even close.

Newlove paired with either Vaikona or Lesley would have been pretty special.
I realised writing mine that I've let my "dislike" for Newlove lapse finally, probably best to eventually let it drop I guess, no point being too stubborn.

I noticed that the general dislike of him seemed to have faded when he played in that legends match at Odsal recently. He was playing for the Bradford side, and the fans that were there were fairly good natured with him. Probably the first time I've seen Bradford fans be that way towards him since he left.
Now that his playing days are over, I think it's one of those "never forgive, but we will try to forget" kind of situations.

| I never really got the Newlove hating thing at all. For two seasons he gave us the most entertainment we had had in years and was nothing short of fantastic. He wanted to leave when Fox was binned, and selling him for the deal we got, at the time we got it was great.
effectively we swapped Newlove for Loughlin, Dwyer, NIckle, Spruce, Lowes and McNamara.
Not a bad bit of business. And i think we had his best years!

Maybe not the best Bradford 17 but one of the most entertaining, made up of players I've seen play for us.
Like Dilligaf I've forgiven Newlove now and the same applies to Ford and Hanley. I know Skerrett left us too but he was never in dispute with the club and took his bat home.
Every player in that 17 could do something special.
