| Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "Ah, I see. You've never heard of Menzies. It's understandable, I suppose, living in the sticks.'"
He is a little way past world class isn't he.
You really need much better bait than [iliving in the sticks[/i. Come on you can do better than that.
Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "Whilst we have made some excellent signings over the years, to demand a constant stream of "world class" signings 'like it used to be' (but never actually was), and then use your own straw man to slag the Bulls off, is pretty dotty, when you think about it.'"
Exactly the point i made, about people reading something that isn't there.

Oh yes, he used to be world class all his career until about 7.34 pm on a Tuesday earlier this year, when he suddenly became past it. Sure, son!
Sorry mate, but if you're so dumb that you think it is possible to diss Menzies from Keighley, well . . . it's wounding like an asthmatic with swine flu firing a peashooter from 2 miles. But thanks for the laugh, anyway!

I know you love him but come on. He is past world class.
Your days of signing world class are in the past. I know you don't like to hear that, but that is how it appears from the outside.
And i see you still haven't answered, why Moi Moi would want to come to the Bulls apart from lots of money.

| Guess Who, seriously now, do you really think you're not Anti-Bradford?
Do you really believe that every post you put on here isn't in some way negative towards the Bulls?
If the answer to any of these is yes, seek help. It's clear for all to see, nobody needs to go looking for evidence, it's obvious every single time you post.
Whether the points are valid or not, they're still always negative towards Bradford.
That tends to be why people ignore them or just take them as bitter.

Please tell me which other clubs have been signing world class players in the past few years because with the exception of Buderus, King and Barrett, I dont recall any teams signing world class players

As i have asked before, please show me these posts.
I ask questions and i believe the points are valid.
Its up to you or anyone else to put any spin on it you want.
I see Bulls fans asking about signing Moi Moi. He is one of the best players in the world.
If it were Leeds, who are winning things or say Wire who seem to be getting bigger and better. I could honestly see the attraction for him coming to them.
But looking from the outside, i cant see why he would want to sign for the Bulls at the moment. Apart from a big pay day. I asked that question and instead of people answering they saw my name and that i am a Cougar fan. So straight away i must have a chip or be negative towards the Bulls.
Forget who posted the question and which team they support. Try reading the question, as it has been put instead of twisting it to suit your own agenda.

There can be some 'interpretation' re world class / top clas players.
If we take current or recent internationals for Oz / NZ / England / SOO or equivalent then Bradford certainly signed them in the past while retaining home grown talent. In recent years the quality has left the club and the players brought in have not been as good + injury prone.

| Leaving aside the "Guess Who" Anti-Bradford handbags - I'm sure someone with time on their hands can prove the point as I know I could if I was so-minded - lets get back to the "why would he come?" business.
Of course he would indeed only come for the money. End of. Given equal money, then the other factors would doubtless come into play, but of course he'd come for a payday. Anyone in his position would do the same? Go ask your Morans and Davys all about that (and no criticism of them in that).
More to the point, would we WANT a megasuperhyper marquee player? On a megasuperhyper package taking away from the rest of the squad?
I submit that we would NOT. Hell, haven't we learned our lesson from the Harris disaster? We saw where THAT "Marquee" signing got us.
Surely what we need instead is a number of very good quality players, just below the "marquee" level, who cost individually quite a lot less but who are individually only a very little less talented? Lot more bang for your bucks, and not putting all your eggs in one basket and hacking off the rest of the team (Harrisgate redux...)?
In fact, sort of what the club is actually doing right now? With signing players who I personally believe...no expect (and you can write that down someplace) to do a lot better for us than the Jeremiahs on here are telling us.
Signing Joe Superstar might make the fans feel a bit better, but would it actually be the action most likely to enhance the team performance? I submit that in our present circumstances - probably not?
And as I have said before, the club has stated that they have been spending the whole salary cap, I have been told this and I believe them, so I do not buy into the argument that there must be a huge unspent pot available somewhere.
End of the day, nothing the club does or says between now and the start of next season is going to affect many supporters' assessment. The Jeremiahs will continue to prophecy dire developments, and the some of the remaining optimists will keep their heads down in the face of their derision. That can only change once the 2010 team gets out on the park.
Can't come soon enough. Bring it on.
