...so by that definition Tomkins is no good either. And I think the same goes for Burgess. Interesting idea you have there. And for the record O'Loughlin does have medals, or for that matter, International caps (surely the best marker of whether he's rated amongst the best this coubtry has to offer or not!)

It is also better than the 1st, 2nd and 3rd etc rounds. But you ultimately win the same at the end - the centre of a doughnut.
In fact, IMO, if my team are not gonna win the cup I would rather go out early rather than end up playing a few extra games that ultimately prove to be fruitless. |

Have to disagree. This season is about showing progress after the dross of last year. A close defeat in the CC semi final against one of the better teams, a 6th place finish and one play off victory would represent a decent year. |

Surely a longer run in the cup presents you with more opportunity to watch your team? |

It also presents the situation where players could be getting burn-out at the business end of the season where it matters. All I am saying is that if my team did not win the Cup, I would rather go out early than play a few more fixtures before going out empty handed.
