So if he walked away then the RFL would again be the ones deciding who took over and they would have to agree to a £72k a year rent and pick up the upkeep costs. Nobody in their right mind is going to do that.'"
Agree with that. Chalmers has actually got the RFL over a barrel here - if they don't approve the move to Dewsbury, he walks away and the RFL are still left with a crumbling stadium that no-one in their right mind is ever going to agree to take on.

That’s certainly one way of looking at it and the one I hope is right.
Another way (and this is just me flying a kite here, I’m certainly not saying this is what might be happening) could be that he’s deliberately taken the Bulls out of Odsal to make it easier for certain parties RFL/CBMDC to sell the site for re-development, thus unlocking some value that would then be shared between them before they all ride off into the sunset. Meanwhile we’re at Dewsbury for pretty much ever since there are no plans to bring us back to Bradford – unless we get compensated (fat chance).
I guess we’ll have to see. If the RFL say we have to stay at Odsal then we can discount my tinfoil hat theory above.

| I can understand some of the negativity, though I don't share it. Ultimately we have no say in anything other than being 'customers', so what management does is up to them. That said, it's been explained in a reasonable and calm way that things can't go on as they are and I, all be it quite sadly, accept that.
Am I happy about going to Dewsbury? Well, I'd prefer not to but I accept the need for it. The RFL are in a quandary, though one very largely of their own making so I'm not totally sympathetic as I'm sure they can go to the landlords and work out a deal. I'm sure Bfd Met would be very happy to make some money out of Odsal. Despite all the brickbats being thrown at Chalmers I don't see him as any kind of villain, he was dealt a poor hand and has played it as well as he could and the club seems generally stable which is as much as I hoped for two years ago. The ground is just another problem to be overcome so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Funny how everything you have mentioned was in a private group chat started by Mick Gledhill. Maybe some of these messages should be shared?

Beer is the root of all my problems, ironically it solves them too Homer
Simpson that is: |
|
| Quote: Errol Stock "I find it harder and harder to support this club and not because we are moving to Dewsbury.
We have 12 players signed up for next year.
James Green has been trying for weeks to get an answer regards his future - wall of silence. So he is playing for York next season.
He's been a good player for us.
How many more are going to look for another club due the hopeless relationship between the "management" (I use that term very loosely) and the players?
Chalmers clearing off to NZ rather than going to Dewsbury didn't go down well with staff either.
The only bond is between the players and the fans - unfortunately that won't pay the rent for them.
The club continues to fritter away valuable ££££'s on "management" staff, some of who have overseen three administrations and have obviously learnt nothing.
Then we have the "Teenfest" - needing 3000 ticket sales to break even and never made 500. Abandoned and at a cost to promoters and "publicity" - not that we saw any.
I wonder who's big idea that was then!
In the meantime we lose valuable staff and players to other clubs, those staff could have been retained had money not been wasted elsewhere.
As far as I am concerned the most important asset the club has is the players followed by its fans - right now the finances are pointing in the wrong direction and its not by accident.
Some player exits might be viewed as "OK" - but I fear some of our better and popular players won't be with the club next season - and it could have been avoided.
Your posts make me believe you really aren`t a Bulls/Northern fan, you seem to delight in bringing bad news to the forum. Anyway I always preferred Garth Budge to Errol Stock.

Spot on. I believe they are a few others like him who seem to enjoy the situation Bulls are in, spend too much time complaining about it but don't offer much of a solution.

| So, as it stands...
Ryan - Hull KR
Wildie - Leigh
Garside - Halifax
And Green to York?
Losing some quality there.
Have I missed any?

| My understanding is the club is currently unable to offer anybody a new contract as the RL won't sanction it.so if any player gets an offer from else where it's likely to take it.Storton and Milnes have signed new deals 3 months ago but they have not been excepted by the RL.it's possible they could both walk away for free as their agent could claim they no longer have a contract.

Has the Green one been confirmed or is it just rumour?
I know Colton Roche has been told hes not getting a deal for next year as well,
but to be honest im not even sure he is still at the club anyway.

| Well you'd think that this state of affairs (if true) would scupper the thought of any incremental improvement in 2020. People won't wait forever and will sign elsewhere. We'd have gone backwards in terms of squad. Certainly we've seen no evidence of it being improved as yet.
The season ticket publicity doesn't sounds quite as catchy with "Destination 9th in the championship" though somehow.

That's my understanding too. I also understand that Hallas is waiting to sign a new deal.
Not sure what the reason is for the RFL sanction. It is probably linked to the CCJ issue but there may be something else we don't know. It would be nice to know officially what's going on. I guess us fans will always be treated like mushrooms.
It doesn't help that the Dewsbury/Odsal business is going on as well since that also relies on the RFL.
Seems like two sides are making lives difficult for each other. Happy days

If that happens and we lose 2 more youngsters for nothing, I'm done with the sport. The RFL have a massive conflict of interest here, which after we lost our Super League place and with no rich owner emerging, our funding and income streams would never support Odsal, so it was always going to come to this.
The RFL specifically selected the new owners less than 3 years ago, so they should respect them trying to deliver a sustainable business. The RFL knew the lease ran out in 2019, so this mess is totally down to a lack of preparation and planning by them, but that's no surprise is it

| On the website the club is "seeking a video analyst for the academy", so hopefully that job doesn't need an RFL sanction. It does suggest business as usual at the club though.
