Quote: M@islebugs "They're not rants. Eddie made a point and you've spent 3 turgid pages trying to tell him he's wrong when it was nothing to do with you to begin with.

If anyone's wrecked the thread it's you.'"

You can not say it is not at me when you dont know who it was aimed at, i wasnt saying he was wrong just i believe it to be aimed at me, IF it was not aimed at me and however was aimed at Eddie then yes i hold my hands up and apologise "Im Sorry"

And he says he has spoken to the mods about this then fair enough but no need to post it all over the thread, if they know and havent dealt with Adey then thats a problem he needs to continuely take up with them surely.

Quote: Duckman "...before its locked you mean?

I'm more interested now in the replacements. We won't know the official reason for Raynors departutre, and I've heard rumour which I'm not putting here, but either way he's gone and doesn't seem to be making a fuss about it so I think its a fair cop and hes gone. Lynch wanted to go, the deal was good enough for all parties so he's gone.

I don't think there is anyone in the academy who can step up, so we're bringing people in. If there was a better or as good option for a prop Hull would have signed them, and others are looking for props too. I think we'll look to a squad prop player rather than a marque one as they're not available without a fee, which we won't pay. So I'd guess at an OOC NRL prop if we can get the quota spot or someone like rob parker to fill a shirt and maybe an up and coming player from the championship along with the best option from our academy if we can't, whilst hoping (and expecting TBF) the quartet we have left can step it up.

For winger the options of Pryce or Goulding don't seem too bad considering, but neither are as good as Raynor (like I doubt Lynch's replacement will be better) so I think we have to go for someone in both positions who could develop into more than they are right now, so Goulding over Pryce (although I might be tempted to get both if we can afford it) and a younger NRL/SL prop with potential.....I've no idea on NRL names as I don't get to see it very often.

Either way we need to be moving quick.'"

Anyway...........................

I reckon goulding would be a good catch, cos he is fairly young and like Ainscough seems to be getting pushed out at wigan and only used for back up, but pryce would have to be last option for me,

agree with the prop situation though

Goulding got a 3 year contract end of last season IIRC. I'm sure that means he will come at a cost.

Could always use the money from Lynch, but doubt that will happen icon_rolleyes.gif

Like someone suggested in an earlier post though about Lee Smith, He may not be a bad option TBF

Just read all the strange tirades above. And for Heaven's sake!

Guys, after some deliberation, and in view of the pretty serious allegation made against me, I'm posting this - the only response I shall trouble you with, after which PLEASE can the thread continue on topic?

I use the term "fruitcake" (amongst other, less complimentary, terms) to refer to - and give my succinct opinion on - people who say (or do) things that seem to me to be quite absurd or ridiculous and at variance with what I would expect a sensible person to say. I read quite a number of comments before my post - including, but not confined to, some IMO quite absurd statements from the individual who has made the allegation - which caused me in exasperation to express a succinct opinion on what I had read. I avoided saying what I really thought about some of the statements, since (on past experience) that would have been quite counter-productive - and the fallout of no interest to most sensible readers of the thread.

For the avoidance of doubt, if someone should choose to call me a "fruitcake", I would regard it as their opinion of me and on what I said. I get called similar things and plenty worse quite regularly (see Gurus Beard for a reasonably definitive list... icon_wink.gif )

I make no apology for implying -or indeed directly stating - that somebody has posted statements which strike me as absurd or stupid. Indeed, you will see me doing precisely that on a regular basis with the more absurd trolls who visit this forum (and for which, see my avatar). And, for sure, I find many of this particular poster's contributions to be absurd or stupid or not at all sensible, in some combination; but that is just my opinion. He clearly feels the same about mine, given how he regularly attacks me or what I have to say directly, without provocation or invitation, often by leaping in to support posts by others that are critical of something I said and otherwise nothing to do with him. For my own part, I have not engaged with that individual directly on these forums for many months, nor do I intend wasting mine, the mods' or everyone else's time ever doing so.

But if that individual has contrived to convince himself that I was making any adverse reference whatsoever to his depression, or indeed have ever done so, then he is both completely mistaken and, I suggest, exhibiting worrying symptoms of obsession and paranoia?

That is and will be my only comment on the subject. Thank you for your patience, and back to the sensible discussion PLEASE on what is a pretty important subject.

...and, on topic, I very much tend to agree with those who have repeatedly argued we need a pack front row "enforcer" as the priority. Added to what we have now lost with Lynch, and the strengthening we have done in the three-quarters and halves (loss of Raynor notwithstanding) surely this must be the priority now?

i think karl pryce would be scrapping the barrel tbh , no doubt he has the ability to play in the halves as his handling skills and kicking game you will struggle to find better when he is on his game , the fact that a player with all this ability has been playing on the wing says alot i think..... he has the heart of a doormouse and is possibly the softest bloke iv ever watched play the game professionally!!! such a shame as a 6ft7 , 18 stone half back with some grunt, aggression and kicking game would be brilliant for us , unfortunately from what i can gather he just cant be bothered .. which is a crying shame because from what iv seen of him when he is on his game he is an unreal talent , goulding would be a better option in my opinion a bit more urgent and industrious , the gap to be filled in the props however ... i have no idea at all , i think tom b is going to have to step right up and be counted next year , which i personally dont have any worries about i think he will develop into a very good prop

Dont think anyone would seriously suggest signing karl pryce to play in halves. just because he played odd game for us in an injury crisis is pretty irrelevent. he's been a wing/ ever since he came back from union.

No, and it's possibly wise to not speculate too heavily

i wasnt suggesting him to play in the halves, all i was saying ( in a long winded way !! ) was that he has always had the ability to have a very good career , just doesnt seem like he can be ar5ed! the front rower " enforcer " iv got no idea who will get but it will be a struggle to get an improvement on lynch thats for sure

If you ask Tigertot, he'll probably say Raynor voted Tory and smells of wee...

Otherwise, I'd suggest Roofaldo's advice is very sound.

icon_lol.gif Has Roofaldo advised yet... seems to be quite bad, being as though giving a new contract and one of our better players last year.... shame to seem him leave
