Yeah right.
You say that now but no doubt I'd buy train tickets and book a hotel - then you'd call the whole thing off.

| Quote: mat "seriously doubt that will happen as its part of RFL's promotion of rugby in london. basically we've had our pre-season disrupted for the benefit of harlequins and no benefit to ourselves. Now we're going to have the handicap of having to play 3 games in 7 days at some point during the year to add insult to injury. Th only possible benefit to us is that we may have bird and lynch available for the re-arranged fixture.
assuming that the RFL dont cancel the many fixture and put us back on in round 2 then the only fair thing they could do is allow the bulls to nominate when we play the fixture so we get to play a mid week where we dont have tough games either side. You watch them make us play it between leeds and saints or similar though
Do you really believe that this plan was put together without any consultation with your club? You complain about fixture congestion yet, had the game gone ahead, your team would have had a less congested season than your rivals - something which I'm sure hadn't eluded your management when the plan was hatched.
Having said that, it is absurd that a friendly fixture should have been allowed to cause so much disruption in the first place.

Spot on. I'm sure playing our WEEK 2 Fixture early and having a weekend off in Feb will pay dividends come September/October. You couldn't make this stuff up.

The league fixture at The Stoop fell victim to the big freeze last Sunday after being rescheduled from February 22 to allow Manly to play Quins as part of their preparations for the Carnegie World Club Challenge against Leeds on March 1.
"As things stand, the only option is to hold our match in midweek or when both clubs are not involved in the later rounds of the Challenge Cup but it's our aim not to have any free weekends between now and the second round of the play-offs," said Hood.
"We have asked the question of the RFL and are awaiting their response."'"

| Now rlthisrl is dodgy...
Quote: "Esher and London Welsh are locked in a bitter bust-up ahead of Saturday’s scheduled Valentine’s Day derby at Molesey Road.
The National One showdown is in doubt because Welsh have rearranged an EDF Trophy game against Cambridge for the same day.
Esher and Cambridge have lodged official complaints with the RFU after Welsh called off Sunday’s original fifth-round EDF tie with Cambridge at 2pm last Friday – a full two days before the match.
Just two hours later, international referee Wayne Barnes declared the pitch at Old Deer Park playable and the England women’s international against Italy went ahead as scheduled on Saturday.
Esher officials claim Welsh are desperate to have a home game this Saturday to enjoy a cash bonanza at the clubhouse – with Wales taking on England in the televised Six Nations game at 5.30pm.
Esher had refused a request from Welsh to swap their fixtures at the start of the season. '"

"Just two hours later, international referee Wayne Barnes declared the pitch at Old Deer Park playable".....yes, but in what capacity? If he was declaring on behalf of the Womens RFU...then his decision is null and void.
Anyway, anything bad that befalls esher is fine with me...that w@nk3r Inverdale is a fan/player and as such, they deserve to be boiled in oil!
