| Hard to say what significance it has. Many businesses play to the edge these days - it's pretty much par for the course to leave bills until the last possible moment.
Not good though and, as mentioned, it can do nothing for sponsors and goodwill. Needs sorting and fast.

| Not the best preparation for tomorrow's match.
I'm amazed that the T & A has not chased this story
The club needs to make a statement - the longer they keep quiet, the more the speculation.

| Well, the good thing is that the speculation can't last long if it's due to come up on Monday.....

If Ross H chased this story, he'd immediately have the same idiots on here slagging him off for being negative about the club again.

| Club statement:
A spokesperson for the Bulls have moved to dispel fears and explain the position of the club in regards to the ‘Winding Up Petition’ against the club currently creating concern on social media.
“At this time, the moment a payment doesn't arrive with HMRC they automatically petition for a ‘WUP’ against this club - they (HMRC) have confirmed in writing, this treatment is as a result of the previous regimes and the money they lost.
“Circa 6 weeks ago they issued a notice to ‘wind up’ which merely crossed with a payment being received. The payment cleared and as a result they did not advertise the fact the petition had been issued. Nevertheless despite having no liability to them and despite their confirmation they would not advertise the petition, they said they would not withdraw the petition just in case there was further liability at the time.
“They (HMRC) have confirmed on Friday (1st of July) nothing is owing and that Monday is merely a formality to have it dismissed. We will be having further dialogue on Monday morning to ensure all issues are finalised.”
We would like to apologise to all Bulls supporters whom were concerned with this matter.

| Still worrying that the payment was late in the first place. Seems that HMRC aren't the sort that'll let you off with a slap on the wrists these days given the club's recent history

| So if everything is good then why was the payment late? Your club refuses to learn lessons, yet more panic buying in the last week with money you clearly don't have.

The responsibility lies with the club to pay on time. If they leave it late enough to for HMRC to start proceedings, they've left it too late!
It's good for the game that Monday's hearing is a formality, but whoever is looking after the finances at Bradford need to pull their finger out.

| Well we clearly walk a very fine line without somebody at the club writing blank cheques when required. Pleased that it has been cleared up and supporters from other clubs can take their false concern elsewhere!

To be honest probably not. I worked with Country Courts for a few years and they were a pain in the backside for getting things cancelled without hearings. If the petition was legit at the time it was filed but the payment came in afterwards (even the day after) the courts often wouldn't dismiss the hearings without someone attending, even if.it was just us rather than the person we'do put the petition in against. I know this is the high Court but the clerical side of it'so not all that different. Most likely someone from HMRC will turn up, confirm payment has been made and that'll be that.

| There's a really easy way to avoid any negative publicity being generated from stuff like this - just pay them on time!
No HMRC liability should ever come as a surprise, every single type of crown debt is known well in advance of payment dates so the club really have no excuse for letting things get to the stage where winding up petitions are issued, even if HMRC are a bit quick to issue them.
If the club are aware that HMRC are going to be a bit twitchy because of what's gone on in the past, then that is even more reason to make sure they keep on top of things.

| Wouldn't it have made more sense to put out today's statement yesterday as soon as they got confirmation that all was ok? Would have stopped rumours before they started. Poor Communication is getting to be a major problem.

by sounds of it, it was literally being paid at same time as they were issuing petition. and given this was 6 weeks ago and has already been paid, signings since then have been made with money we clearly do have. Bit rich being lectured by a fan of a club that only pays its rent when it feels like it
