| I can't see the top 8 teams in SL changing much when this joke league gets going it will become the same teams playing each other all the time very boring and not doing a lot for an England team selection point of view.

| Was never a fan of the concept - only agreed with the notion that 4 teams was too many for the talent pool available.
However, now we are relegated I am kind of looking forward to watching the possible effects the system may have on the games.
I'm not convinced the top 8 is clear cut - the top 4/5 maybe.
This time last season I don't think anyone would have predicted Castlefords spectacular rise up the ratings - it just goes to show that surprises can still happen.
I think I will enjoy the battles to stay in the top 8 - but I guess our squeeky bum time follows that when we get involved. The thought of failure at this point and the tensions involved will certainly make for some sweaty palms.
There is the strong possibility of a return of knee jerk/panic decisions, coach sackings and buying of players, debts... etc. And there will be added pressure on referees and decisions which could possibly relegate (or promote) a team...
Hmmm

| Bit worried about 12 points for going into Admin. I'm waiting for the RFL to announce it is retrospective and dock us points next year.

Afaik they mean going forward after this year. Parachute payment for us and London is one off due to change in structure. Should a team drop down next year or after they won't get a parachute payment.

| As it has been said you can go into administration get 12 points deducted slide to the bottom of SL1 and still be in SL1 next year if you get in the top 4 of SL2 so not really a penalty is it!!

He also said we would be receiving around £750,000 to make sure we stay full time

True but that's our central funding. How much are the rest of the Championship clubs receiving as he said we and London are getting the larger slice

All their doing is merging the parachute payment into the central funding amount. In the FAQ about new structure it says increased central funding this year only. Iirc correctly top two in championship also get extra prize money this year to boost their central funding up to a similar amount. Hence why Featherstone sacked their coach and started signing players mid season when extra money was announced before nahaboo pulled out.
Central funding for championship is stupid under new system. how much you get depends on your finishing position the season before with team finishing top getting most and dropping approx 50k for each league position. Iirc in restructure proposal they were talking about 550k for top stepping down to 150k for bottom placed team. Notice how much were getting just happens to be pretty much the top amount plus an amount similar to what was being touted as the parachute payment.

| Nowhere in that faq does it actually discuss the level of funding clubs will be receiving in 2015. Is that because final league standings haven't been decided yet?
I'm curious as to why it would be completely overlooked. And I want more info than just 'increased annual central funding'. I want numbers.

It doesn't mention figures in FAQ but it does in the t&a article. Specifically says central funding starts at 750k each for us and London and then a sliding scale down to 150k for bottom club.

A team who is destined to be in the bottom 4 of SL (let's use Wakefield as completely random example
It's no different to now. Your previous administrations didn't result in any real penalty. It's arguable that this year's penalty was more to do with losing your players for lack of cash rather than the points deduction; you got four back from us quite easily.
What about writing a letter?

That's actually pretty much spot on, imo.
It wasn't the six points which did us but the loss of half our competition money. Despite OK's daft assertions that it didn't matter and how he would carry on anyway, the amount of money forfeited was more than the amount owed. Without that second period in admin and with that money we would have kept Scruton, Carvell and Sammutt and quite possibly Bateman and Whitehead too along with some of the juniors who have jumped ship. I'm sure some may argue the point, but in my mind there is no way that team would have been languishing in the bottom two, six points or no.

| Solly also said the dual reg will need looking at and we may end up with a sort of "cup tied" situation for players.
They should simply set a cut off date for sending players out or loaning them in. After say, June 1st, all players stay put. SL clubs would need to decide to bring them back in case they need them. If they don't bring them back they stay with the championship club till the end of the season. It would stop the 1 month or possible 7 game loans. I would even include overseas loan players like London did with that half back two years ago. Get them in before June 1st or it's too late.
