| The Blessed Steve will no doubt officiate the game in his own understated style. Apart from getting your lot onside, I suspect that his hardest job will be putting a name to all the different faces you have in your squad this season!

I'm, more or less, just hoping that during his absence from the action he's seen sufficient (one should be enough) TV replays to notice how much Keith Senior obstructs when defending...............

| Of course, as ever with this debate, the shocking decision in the last minute is all Bullies complain about whereas the non-sending off of Terry Newton in the 12th minute (he was subsequently banned) is conveniently forgotten

The sort of decision that has a judiciary backstop and is a mundane feature of many games is less controversial than a video referee and referee changing the outcome of a match where there is no chance of a wrong being righted? Fascinating insight.

| Ganson manned up and admitted he was in the wrong, so short of bestowing magical powers of infallibility on him, surely that drew a line under it? As far as he is concerned anyway.

Yep I'd agree with that. Not often a referee comes out and admits he was wrong, so credit to him for it.
It's the other one that still deserves abuse for actually breaking rules (rather than just making a mistake) and not coming out and saying anything. IMO he needed to apologise more than Ganson! Even then though, it's been over 3 years, I think that's enough to let it die now.
Regardless though, I am surprised they've done this. Purely because it's putting extra pressure on Ganson on his first big game back and because it almost makes him the centre of attention instead of the game itself. Perhaps it's just another way to drum up talking points in the build up though?

| Ganson's either the best British ref or the worst, depends which personality turns up. Dont think 2007 will make any difference.

| You'd like to think that a bit of reverse psychology might happen, and he ends up 'over compensating' by giving us a few 50/50 calls.

I had the same thoughts, couldn't see why they'd do it, and then....

....Exactly.
He wont be biased towards either team (but I like the idea Paul ), but the previous game must be in his thoughts, he just needs to not let it effect any decisions on Sunday...I'm fairly confident it won't.

I take it you didn't watch stains last season then?

what he did with stains last sesaon is irrelevent. We've already seen the improvement in our defense in the pre-season games. Early days still but a promising start so far.
