I posted my reply on Saturday that I was up for sponsoring a player but my post has since been moved to the trust/isa thread instead so I would just like to say again that I'm up for chipping in and sponsoring a player!

The point I made on my previous message was how would poeple feel about sponsoring a player yet to make his debut? We could sponsor one of the potential stars of tomorrow. Imagine the feeling we'd get when he was to make his debut......

As far as I've seen only players who have a squad number are available for sponsorship. Given that the existing sponsors get first refusal we'd probably be looking at players coming into the first team squad anyway. I'd probably get more satisfaction from supporting a player just starting his career than someone more established.
If we took that approach would we be looking to take this strategy every year, supporting a young player just coming through from our academy, or given first refusal would we follow our existing player.
If we did look to change player every year I'd suggest we'd want to set that out with the club up front.

Thats a good thought, and I'm sure when we get a list of possibles it will contain a lot of players yet to make their debut. Someone like George Burgess maybe?

I was thinking the exact same player.

If we still get one media appearance from our player to an event, surely having George would be quite beneficial if we were going to use the appearace to inspire youngsters - i.e - I'm sure he will have some stories from Sam down under to inspire potential stars of what can happen if you are committed, work hard, etc, etc

Its getting cheaper everyday. If this all goes to plan I'll be really chuffed with us all. Updated list below.
