Taai confirmed to Newcastle Thunder. We really must not have a pot to urinate in.
So many decent players gone to smaller clubs than us.
And before anyone jumps on my back i fully understand we cant over spend AGAIN. It just frustrates me when we miss out on good players.

I agree raging bull, simply can’t believe that we can’t afford some of the players that have been available and gone to smaller clubs

Yeah disappointing to have missed out on Taai. That one forward of the calibre of Taai/Olbison etc will give us one of the best squads since we came down IMO we still have a decent squad though.
It is frustrating but with the unknown in crowds and more importantly the championship likely to get zero funding next year due to SLs bumper TV deal (what a great bit of business it has been the split and putting Elstone in charge BTW) it's more important than ever to be strict on budgets.
Still frustrating though.

I suppose this is exactly the scenario where www.bullssquadbooster.co.uk can support
We all seemingly agree that we shouldn’t be breaking the bank but if we want to sign these players who can make a difference this is where we fans can support, if personal circumstances allow
I’m on the committee for squad booster so if anyone has any questions please contact me but I urge, if people can and are prepared to, please join and if we get enough members contributing s relatively small, amount (min £5 pm but more can be paid if you want) we can potentially support the club and allow signings such as the ones mentioned
Membership is going really well but without stating the obvious when raising money, you can’t have too many members!!! |

And if Newcastle or York etc sign a player they are showing ‘ambition’. If we do we are overspending and playing a dangerous game. |

On the subject of owners, has anyone seen the accounts that were just released, its the updated ones from Jan 2019 with a drop of creditors owed from roughly 1.2million to roughly 600k. Maybe this is the amount Chalmers wrote off?.

I would say, almost certainly. When did Wood & Sawyer take over, was it Sep/Oct 2019? This missing 2020 is doing my head in. There were several threads at the time about some creditors being paid back over 4-6months as well. I would assume the current accounts look a lot healthier, especially after a year of no stadium costs and staff furlough. |
