It’s the kids prices I have a problem with. £20 for a 16 yo student and £10 each for my 9 & 10 yo’s. I can’t get them a season ticket as they are likely to miss too many games, I certainly won’t be spening time debating whether they come next season at those prices. If there’s football on Tv and they want to watch that I won’t be asking twice

Not sure we'll have optio of continueing this service in the championship. League one was different as the rights arent held by anyone, but in championship Sky hold the rights even though they choose not to use them. Not sure they would allow clubs to live stream games (pretty certain we'd be ok putting games up afterwards as we did that previously and think most championship clubs do this as well). Plus towards back end of season RFL started live streaming through the ourleague app and would imagine they would want to continue with that centrally rather than having clubs doing it ad hoc. Maybe Mick knows more?.

Quote: paulwalker71 "We desperately need other options than Season Tickets - or pay on the gate.

I won't be buying a ST next year as I know already that I will need to miss at least three or four games (possibly more) due to work commitments. So buying a ST is a total non-starter.

But it then feels a bit steep to have to pay £25 to pay on the day, if I suddenly find that I can go on the day (sometimes I might not know until the day)

The club really needs to look at having some sort of Flex Ticket, say for 6 games. If I could pay £130 for a 6 game Flex Ticket, then I'd definitely buy one. I wouldn't have to buy a ST, but I'd still get a bit of a saving over paying each time. It seems a pretty obvious 'win' to me! If they sold, say, 1000 Flex Tickets (and I think they likely would because lots of people are in the same position), then it injects £130,000 into the club, and if some of those Flex Tickets end up not being fully redeemed, then the club has the money already. #win'"

Agree wholeheartedly.

I'd also buy one for 6 games. Would I definitely pay into 6 games on the gate at those prices, possibly not. I can't make every home game and the days I can, there are cheaper things to do with the family so Odsal isn't usually 1st choice. Going to matches definitely become a habit and if you buy in advance you will make sure you do go for your moneys worth.

Glad to see some reasoned debate.

All I want to see is the crowds come back to Odsal.

The easier the club makes it to buy entry by flexible pricing and ticketing the more people in different situations can buy in.

Flexi tickets are widely available at other clubs and I cannot see any reason why the Bulls don't introduce them.

Wigan are selling 4 game tickets from £70 - £17.50 a game!

Rest my case.

They did but that was special deal for toronto with RFL backing as they fall outside sky footprint. Dont think they'll be as acomodating for a heartland club.

Yeah that's right,Wolfpack have there own agreement with Premier. The Championship comes under the Sky banner who at the moment only show the summer bash games from the Championship.Clubs are not allowed to stream there games LIVEunder the current agreement.

I have never thought about a flex ticket before, but it would suit me down to the ground with other commitments through the year i would definitely buy one for 6 or 8 games.
As for the mechanics just put 6 slots on the ticket and they punch them out of the ticket when you go to a game, ooooooo H&S issue here i hear you say icon_lol.gif

I think it's a little bit unfair on Bradford to be drawing comparisons with a club in such a position as Wigan.

They have a bigger fanbase, way more central funding, a wealthy chairman, current SL champions, prize money from last year and additional revenue generated from a decent cup run and SL playoff games.
All of the above will help to put them in a strong financial position which in turn makes it easier to offer discounted tickets to supporters.

We, on the other hand, have very little funding and no wealthy chairman. I don't doubt that every penny of income we generate will have been budgeted for somewhere and when you're in a position like that you have some very difficult decisions to make regarding the pricing structure of tickets.
I'm sure we could have gone with lower ticket prices but how many walk up supporters do we need to break even or cover costs? How many to meet our cashflow needs? Without knowing the ins and outs of running the club I find it hard to criticise the decisions made by those in charge. You might not like it but ultimately you have to accept the decisions and trust that Chalmers and co. have made the right ones to help get the club back to where we all want it to be.

Some good points raised. Obviously the club can't have 3 or 4 thousand bespoke payment schemes tailored to the needs of each supporter, but there does seem to be a need for some greater flexibility.
I understand the emphasis on getting full amounts for STs paid asap. The club has beaten off competition to sign and retain several players and significant cash flow is needed to support this. At some point though an instalment plan is needed for those who can't afford the lump sum. I paid this way last year. I think it was introduced in December.
The flexi ticket option sounds an excellent idea. Not everyone is available for every game.
A discounted price for away supporters who buy in advance will doubtless be run again.
For those who genuinely don't have a clue if they can attend until match day then it's a bit more of a problem. Possibly a voucher system? Pay full price for 6 games and the 7th is free?
There has to be a limit but the above should cover most circumstances.
Whatever the case, it's important that we all attend as much as possible. The club don't get everything right as we are all aware, but they've made a genuine attempt to put a competitive team out. That costs money. Supporters need to try and support that.
If despite everything, there are are genuinely a few members of this supporters forum who would rather watch rival clubs or have other activities they much prefer to do on a match day, then fine, it's a free country. The rest of us will move on without you, supporting the team and doing our best to encourage new support to replace you. Support that is going to attend games.

When first announced surely the tickets were based on 11 home matches as the decision to increase Championship to 14 teams was only made 2 weeks before end of season. Got mine at end of Aug, Early Bird with effectively addl 10% discount voucher to spend in shop. Now I have 13 home games, well pleased with the deal.

Quote: Bullseye "When I went with people that hadn’t bought in advance I found the ticket office to work fine (if you mean the booths just outside the shop). The queues to actually get in were lengthy but if you went to get in by the main carpark they were much shorter.

I expect it’s cheaper for the club to operate in this way and subsequently they make more money. I don’t think it’s that extortionate at £25 but I think they’re missing a trick not offering a 6 game ticket at a slight discount.'"

Actually Bullseye I was referring to buying a ticket in advance from the club shop / ticket office. The process seemed agonisingly slow and involved them going next door to print out the ticket. It all seemed very "Mickey Mouse" to me, designed to save costs no doubt. As a BCFC season ticket holder it works out around £7.50 per game so you don't mind if you have to miss a few. Until this years debacle they had steadily built up the fan base to 18,000 supporters.
I think the flexi-card which the Bantams also pioneered would be a great idea.

Sounds like that wasn't thought through properly. I'd say you're better trying to buy online if you can. Then all you need do is show the ticket on your phone.

We paid over the League 1 odds in 2018 as we're not a League 1 club and were aiming higher. We succeeded.

We do not aim to be a Championship club permanently. If we ever have a team strong enough to compete to get promoted into SL and not be whipping boys and bounce straight back down, then we effectively need to intensify the rebuilding process, and set our stall at having a squad which would have some sort of a chance in the lower echelons of SL. So paying average Championship prices is unlikely to be enough to pay for a top-of-the-Championship-tree level squad. Remember the last time we were in the Championship? It hasn't got significantly easier or less competitive.

It would cost you £28.50 for a ticket in the gods at the Pantomime, for comparison, and if this pricing helps avoid any more pantomimes at Odsal then I'm all for it.

Whinge all you like about the prices, its a free country, but I'm sure Chalmers has done his sums and has a battle plan, and it is what it is. I could understand it more if you feel outpriced and can't watch, but given that you can choose to pay NOTHING and the club will let you watch the game live from your armchair, protests seem a tad churlish.

Mmmm,it's also cheaper for me to holiday in Skegness ...

You either support a team or you don't imo.

Supporting on price is just beyond me ,sorry
