My wife got me an X-Box for Christmas (the crazy fool!) and I fancy getting a good shoot-em-up like COD. Which is the best one to get? Sounds like the one before this is best? Is that right? Is it quite easy to pick up or will I throw my controller down in disgust as I get filled with lead every 30 seconds?

My other ideas for games are Colin McRae Dirt and Heroes over Europe. Any other ideas? I like driving games and blowing things up really. I used to enjoy old games on the PS like Tekken and Track & Field. I'm not into stuff like Tomb Raider or any Final Fantasy stuff, I'm also useless at the soccer games.

Depends how good you're at Shooters, I found COD online pretty tough going to start with. Until you know the maps you'll more than likely get picked off from all angles. I was losing some matches with twice as many deaths as kills to begin with. Either of the MW are great games to play though, especially online.

As for driving, I also have Forza 3 which is a cracking game but perhaps a bit more serious than Colin McRae?

Also if you want a fun and very cheap game, keep a look out for Saints Row 2 it's a bit like GTA but it doesn't take itself quite so serious.

As per BB's note, its no secret that as soon as you learn the maps, you're scores improve. Also you need to develop a style but hopefully not one that involves hiding in corners



COD4 was a definitive line in the sand and I think there are still people playing it. I'd get the new one, it gets good when you progress

Also I played the game before going online, there are people who only play online and never play the game

anyone else having problems with modern warfare on xbox? worked fine for a couple of days, now wont let me into multiplayer or campaign with disc read errors, strangely special ops works fine. wont install to hd either, fails on 48%. according to net theres a bad batch of discs going round. have to wait till weekend to get it swapped
