Is that it? Nothing positive to say about the coach?
After all, if he is to make ten games then he will need all the support he can get from his band of followers. This thread presents a great opportunity for some positivity to come out.

Results of the last year since my original campaign against him suggest otherwise do they not?
TBH Andrew, whilst your continued defence of your great mate Steven is admirable, I doubt too many people share your confidence. As much as you may wish to argue otherwise, I suspect that most people are seeing that we are becoming a laughing stock.
It interests me that you suggest that it is in my imagination when you consider that there are plenty on here today STILL questioning his tactical nous. Despite strong words in the media from McNamara, he is either doing nothing to resolve the problems, or he is incapable of actually doing so. I reckon it is the latter TBH.

You see Eddie, your problem is that ten games for you is an unbearable length of time to go without a certain level of onfield success. You were on here sniping twenty minutes into the Hull KR game! This is a club that has been going in one form or another since 1863, longer than the game itself. It's been the Treble Champs and it's been rock bottom of the professional league. It currently is in the doldrums relative to the most successful ten years in its history, but there is a clear strategy for improving matters - youth development and the OSV. Both will take time, and do little to satisfy yourself and those likeminded in the interim. But that doesn't stop them from being the way to go.

Ten games?
Three seasons is a bit more accurate. Three seasons of decline on the playing field. Three seasons of questionable signings and tactics. Three seasons of dwindling crowds, quality, entertainment and, now, expectation levels.
Three seasons of proving that our youth development is the key by letting one of our best young players go out on loan after not giving him a fair crack of the whip and watching him get off to a great start whilst we blunder on from one poor performance after another.
The OSV saga has now been running longer than Coronation Street and, TBH, I am unsure what that has to do with the failings of the coach?
Still, two posts made on here and even YOU have not said anything positive about the coach directly. That kinda says it all.

I'm sure there would be no shortage of contenders. After all it ought to be one of the most sought-after jobs in Super League.

In your head. In reality 2007 saw us have a good pop at top spot. Dwindling crowds? They went down after we won the Treble, blame the Bradford sporting public for that one.

More fantasy. Dave Halley has had plenty of stick on here for his performances. Great that he's doing well at Wakey, that's what he was sent there for, change of scenery to help him kick on.

No? But you just mentioned dwindling crowds a couple of paragraphs back. And dwindling crowds means dwindling income.

I think you said it all, over four or five threads I had to merge.

| I think Dave Woods ex Cas and Gateshead may be an option, although I'm not sure about the circumstances in which he was sacked from Gateshead.
That was one of the worst games I've seen in years, we were dire and Huddersfield didn't exactly set the world alight.

After waking up with a hangover I realise I went over the top with that comment. Huddersfield are a lot better than I made out but it was a game that we should have won.
Same old same old it has to end.

| Can I put a sneaky hand up from the back of the room and agree its time macca went.
And if we`re after coach nominations can I nominate redeveready, think he`s more qualified than maccas assistants.

| I think I've figured it out. This is all part of the board's plans to get the OSV put through. And the way they're going to do this is.... by turning us into a Union side
Seriously think about it. The lack of skills from the players, The lack of fitness as well. And last night, only one try and lots of penalty kicks.
Basically, once we switch the clubs code all the government "old boys" network all comes into play and we'll have a shiny new stadium in no time at all

| I haven't seen anything to suggest Macca has lost the dressing room. And despite what some have said I genuinely felt the effort was there from the majority of players. The trouble we have is that we still have a few many ordinary players in key positions. Namely stand off and full back, also we have a hooker who seems unable to deliver an accurate pass and a scrum half who looks past his best.
However the most infuriating thing last night was how similar it was to the Hull game. Our forwards were once again on top, but yet we still had no idea in front of the try line. One man rugby didn't work against KR and it didn't work against the Giants. We still haven't learnt that defences have improved and simply trying to power over is no longer effective. Oh and any chance we could develop a kicking game? If we were struggling to break them down, why didn't we utilise more kicks?
I wouldn't call for McNamara to be sacked at this stage, but this year really does have to be the year we see some better displays. We need to see an organised team who look like they're all playing to the same gameplan. If this year follows the same route as last, we simply have to then make a change for 2010.

| Whoever you bring in is still going to have to deal with the fact that our recruitment policy has been a c0ck up since McNamara came in. This means we have a side that lacks creativity and pace from 1-7.
We've played two games this season and still displayed many of our old bad habits. While I've stuck up for McNamara in the past I've gone from sitting on the fence to now wondering if a change would fix some of the fundamental faults that he seems unable to rectify.
