| regarding the clubs stance with matt orford,i actually think that they could call his agents bluff and actually get some compo from the aussie side that takes him on,or has probably tapped him up in the first place?
as the bulls havn't gone too close to the salary cap limit, surely they could wait until the last minute and hold his registration until his suited club pay up?
if they don't pay up,orford can come back to bradford as they have room under the cap!
everyone knows that orford doesn't want to return and that the bulls don't want him to return
a poker player would win everytime with the hand that the bulls have, but will the man holding the bulls' cards have the nerve to hang on to the death though?

Depends on how you define winning though doesnt it? If by winning you mean just getting compensation then your absolutely right. If you widen the scope to include getting compensation and having sufficient time to use said compensation to strengthen the squad before the season kicks off then it gets more difficult.

[i"And, despite claims from the player’s manager George Mimis that he has not been contacted by Bulls officials for three weeks, the two parties are actually believed to be locked in negotiations over the terms of Orford’s departure, with talks reaching a crucial point"
"Canberra Raiders and Parramatta Eels have both shown interest but the Telegraph & Argus understands neither are keen to stump up a fee and have stopped short of making an official approach"[/i
That reads to me as the club responding to the lies by mimis earlier this week in the aussie press. It also mentions switching targets possibly to a 7 if Leon is not available, which might mean we're not getting the cash we hoped for (given that it seems the two clubs interested are only talking to Mimis, not us) which might have temped saints, so my guess is we're looking at some sort of mutual agreement release of the player, with maybe Orford paying out some of his own contract (undisclosed amount no doubt) just so we can get shut of him. He'll then be free to join which ever NRL club pays him the most and we'll look to pick up a 6 or 7 for little or no transfer fee, and maybe only on a 1 year deal whilst we wait for Leon for 2012? Just a guess.
I'm happy the club have clarified a few things though and are clearly working on getting the situation finished.

| Hmm, let's see. Who should we believe?
Connor Murphy, who in the year he's been doing the job for the T&A has done nothing but shown himself to be completely trustworthy and is known not to report any info without a bloody good source or confirmation?
Or George Mimis, who has done nothing but lie and deceive in recent times to get what he can for his client (which I'm not saying he shouldn't be doing by the way)?
Tough one.

Well I doubt we could afford a reputed £300k a year even if he wanted to come.
Looks like he'll be off to union.

Don't know about the financial side, but we don't have an overseas spot if the Orford deal falls through, so we would have to de-register him (or another overseas player) to keep within the rules. It isn't really that simple.

| connor has tweeted saying both parties have agreed on something. it's not the full amount the bulls were hoping for but he believes it should be "significant enough"

Connors twitter says both parties will agree on something, not that they have.
