| Whereas BoolocksChopss, the majority of posters on this forum are optimistic because of the realism in what was said, no promises of SL in 10 seconds for example. And yet you accuse fans who think this is sensible, and are prepared to wait the time to see what happens, of living in a fantasy. Clearly you have never had any level of planning responsibility in an organisation. You are almost certainly a toilet cleaner, because for you one thing is certain, the toilet will be there, and it will need cleaning. No planning needed, and no need to justify why there's no floater when one was predicted.
Stick your toilet brush where it will hurt your poisonous pustules the most. In your faux-brain.
I apologise to any good honest toilet cleaners on this forum for comparing Floaterchops to you, and your honest endeavours.

I think that toilet brush is already touching a nerve on your self there Marty...
You're a hypnotist's dream.

| We are just fans. We have no say in anything, other than whether we turn up and support or not. As for the owners, they'll do what they do and we'll have no say in it anyway, so let them get on with it - at the end of the day there is still no other potential owner tearing the door down to take over.

| From Aaron Bower on twitterHad clarification from RFL on Bradford's central funding for 2018. They will get same as every other L1 club. This year, that was £75,000.'"
Did they actually say £150k at the forum? That is a monumental mistake if they're using incorrect figures in their budgets like that.

| I don't understand the issue with the £150 thousand? Would that not be the "prize" money for finishing last? That would differ from the funding for being in league 1 wouldn't it?
Having done some brief research there does seem to be a sliding scale of prize money. Although like all things RFL, it's quite hard to find any actual hard facts written down.

If Chalmers has done all his budgets on the assumption that we're getting £150k when in reality we're only getting £75k, I'd say that's a pretty big issue!

dont know if they said it at the actual forum but the 150k figure was tweeted by Aaron bower as part of the media briefing stuff before the forum. Maybe he got his figures mixed up.

| They will get £150k for finishing last in this years Championship. Even if they hadn't finished last they would still of only got the £150k as that was the agreement set out by the RFL who ever got the licence

I quoted a rugby journo who has confirmed it with the RFL - we're only getting £75k.

That was the arrangement for [ithis[/i years funding - the amount that applied to the lowest placed team in the Championship. (Yes, I know we only actually got £10K because the RFL withheld the rest, but still...)
Next years funding will be League 1 funding which is £75K

Don't forget our Parachute Payment which I understand is about £25m

| Quote: Smack him Jimmy "Now my serious response;
1. I dont have a manifesto - I'm a fan not a phuqqin politician
2. I've supported Bradford Bulls since the early Steaming Pig days and I've been through thick and thin with them and I never doubted my loyalty until last Xmas when I chose to spend more time checking on my clubs plight than I spent talking to my family - and the penny dropped - my mood is linked to the performance of my beloved Bulls - the worse they do - the more of a lover I become - and thats just not fair on those around me - so I've decided to cut the red amber & black umbilical cord. If anyone wants to criticise me for not buying a season ticket, then so be it; sorry but my family come first now. I'll always be a Bradford fan till I die; and I'll have my lucky Northern scarf draped over my coffin - but life is too short, and family is more important than sport.
Based on our life experiences we all have different views / tipping points / thresholds - if you're feeling positive about AC's speech - good for you - but I'm not you - it's my choice whether I think AC is the saviour or just another scheming businessman who wants my hard earned cash
3.What did I want from AC?? A surprise package that would guarantee us back in SL by 2019! You did ask. - Ok I set my sights unrealistically too high - but how many of us on here were really hoping for a surprise announcement at that forum, a billionaire owner, or reinstatement of points deduction, or a few hundred thousand found down the back of the Bulls sofa, a handful of superstar players signed by Mr Lowe, etc etc
Are you any happier now?'"
I'm very happy thank you. And I think pretty much everyone left on here now is a lifelong supporter. I know I am.
But my point was not that I think Chalmers is trustworthy, it was that given where we are I think that having a plan that builds for the future is a good thing.
That doesn't mean that Chalmers is someone who can deliver against it. But I think the shape of the plan is about as good as we can hope for. A 4 year recovery plan that sees us in a strong position to apply for a SL licence. And at that stage we have built sustainable income streams, have a reserve team, improved academy - things that a lot of current SL clubs don't have - that would see us set up very well for the future.
I don't think that anyone was or is expecting a miracle announcement.

Ok, but what do we get for finishing last? As I understand it (I read it somewhere) top place gets full SL funding, second a million, third 800k or so, fifth 500k, and so on, so it makes sense that last would get about 150k.

There are set funding levels for each position in championship which determine funding for the year. top place is 780k, 2nd 760k, 3rd 550k, 4th 500k then a drop to 250k for 5th and a sliding scale for remaining positions dow to 12th with lowest place getting 150k. Not sure if those are the exact figures but their pretty close.
Each teams position is their position at end of previous season, But at top of league if someone gets promoted then everyone above them shuffles down a place and relegated team comes into league in position number one for funding purposes. so last year hull kr came down and received funding leigh would have got for finishing top ( likewise leigh received full SL funding Hullkr would have received if they had stayed up).
Likewise at bottom of league the two teams coming up are ranked as 11th and 12th for funding purposes and will receive the funding amounts us an whoever goes down would have got. we drop into Championship one and receive the fixed 75k funding all championship one clubs get.
This year both us and the 2nd promoted club from last year were on the lowest 150k amount. we should have got 250k for finishing 5th last year ( pluss 100k prize money for winning championship shield IIRC). Presumably the 100k we were docked plus the 100k prize money we never saw for championship shield went into same pot as the 135k portion of this years central funding that RFL also withheld to pay back the rugby debts.
