| I don't see why we can't hang on to Chisholm.
Who did we beat to his signature a couple of months ago.
Who signed him when we went bust and he was out of work - yes, Sheffield took him when nobody else signed him.
By the start of the season in only 5 months he may not even have played a game after a very serious knee injury.
He clearly has not been knocking back lucrative offers from lots of SL clubs and even Championship clubs otherwise he would not have been part time at Sheffield and then a doomed championship club. He reminds me a little of Sammut who seemed to have a reputation of winning matches but never played for a top club and struggled in lower leagues.
If Chisholm wasn't wanted last December why would he be in great demand right now with his knee the way it is.
If we do keep him and we put a decent squad together he will get a bag full of tries next season as long as his knee is OK and that is the worry with him for other clubs.

| Quote: Bull Mania "Well Sam Hallas signing is excellent news. Said in T&A yesterday Gibson & Smith were contracted for next year, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will be here. If they are than that's 2 more good signings who will do well in L1. '"
Those on two-year deals have options in contract for either party (club or player) to terminate following relegation. This will mean that the player may well be interested in staying but the club could exercise the release clause and cut loose on cost basis.
To my knowledge Hallas, Tonga, Smith, Gibson and Chisholm are all on two year deals but I don't see us keeping anyone but Hallas. I think the club would be keen to keep Chissy but of there is a better offer elsewhere I think he'll jump ship.
The only thing I think is holding the club back is the decision of the re-structure, however unlikely it is to happen. If the RFL do switch it up and keep us in it, this could mean players the club wished to ditch have a contractual obligation and therefore unless there is a mutual agreement, we are stuck with them.
For me, Tonga and Gibson are expensive yet injury prone squad members we don't need. You could through Smith into the mix too.
As always, nobody can make a decision until the RFL decide which way the wind is blowing!!!

| I think a big thing holding the club back must be the tribunal proceedings. If they are held liable to pay dozens of claimants thousands of pounds each (I have no idea of the amounts being claimed) that money will have to come from somewhere. We don't have any and we're not looking for investors so the only remaining plcae is the 2018 budget. Unless we get a payday loan from Provident to pay for any compo that might be awarded.

| do you think that we may indeed already have an investor?
you would have to be a mad man to take a club on with no money to run it and no prospect of any, then say we don't need Money?..
Chalmers doesn't seem that bat $hit crazy to me?
or am I just been over optimistic?

By the same token I think you'd have to say that any new 'investor' would be a little bit crazy too. It's hardly a solid investment in its normal sense, however you look at it. Unless someone knows of a big Bull's fan who has dropped a big win on the lottery recently?

| I don't think anyone actually "invests in any RL club in the normal sense of "investment" - it's dead money.
Several do plough loads of money in, many more plough in what they can, but nobody is in it to make any money - quite the opposite.
Then come on down to the third division and try to reconcile being there in front of 200 people in a field, and there being an "investor" seeing that as an "investment". Can you? I can't.

| Daft question but has Keenan Tomlinson left the Bulls? And if so where has he gone? I remember him going on loan to London Skolars with Pickersgill but after they came back I have only see Pickersgill.

It was mentioned on here recently (by Bullseye if memory serves) that Keenan has indeed left but hasn't gone to another club.

| He's gone. According to Duffy he was wanting to be sent on loan again but no club wanted him. Skolars rated Pickersgill apparently.

Ah, I thought I had read something on here about it! Just wasn't sure! Hmm, never saw him play to be honest but would have been an extra body next season. They rated Pickersgill? Hopefully that means he's suited to League One rugby because I'm yet to be convinced, hopefully a good pre-season and friendlies will boost his confidence.

Oh, absolutely FA.
I've long thought that most of the people who put money into running lower division teams, soccer, RL or union, are usually doing it as local people hoping for local kudos and to 'look good' within their very local communities. If it's the local butcher, baker or candlestick maker then there may be an element of their name being bandied about slightly more often than it might have been, but certainly there is little else that would be, even remotely, tangible.

I see potential in Pickersgill. Yes he's dropped a few kicks and missed a few tackles but remember Ethan Ryans first game? Dropped a kick then following set missed a simple 1 on 1. Pickersgills been on a hiding to nothing alone at the back. He's got a decent turn of pace. A run of games and i think he'll be ok.
