| My first thought was that it was an instinctive kick to try and knock the ball dead. It looked worse when they showed it on the screen. Definite penalty, but no more than that
It was obvious he spotted Karl Pryce looming up behind him for the try - and just did not fancy it
Foster won't want to watch the re-run of Sky, lol. Everything he could do wrong did go wrong. And to think some people were suggesting he should have been in the England squad last season!

| It was a cracking performance, we should have been out of sight really. Yes Saints were not very good, and yes once again we were victims of ridiculouslyforwardpassitis, twice, but they played like they really wanted this one, and I don't think they were ever going to give it up.
Not bad for a team with half the sqaud injured!

Me and the guy in front both agreed we felt Foster's pain. Indeed, we were choked for him. At least we claimed we were choking, even though the others in earshot swore blind it sounded more like we were laughing...

| Watched the Foster incident again on Sky TV and confirms my view at the match that his boot was instinctive to stop a try. Reckless certainly and a penalty - but not with malice or intent to do harm, so no further ban.
Interesting that Silverwood gave a Penalty after a Try which was the right decision, but when was the last time such decision has been made in SL.
I cant remember one - anyone who can??

| and looking at the table the worst we could be at the end of this round is 7th. Having said that we were 7th round about this time last year, but the difference this year is our teams ATTITUDE . and last year we still had the injuries to come. Without a doubt Potter knows what the players can do, this time last year he was playing around with some very strange choices, but he has been far more consistent this year.
Its all a bit quiet on the Hood hating front. So I shall join them. Hood, I hate you for presiding over 4 wins out of 7 in what was seen as a very difficult start to the season.
Is there a coach of the month as in footie? Potter had better be careful, hes looking good for it in March so far.

And yet apparently were considering resting him next week and continuing with Sykes next week ahead of easter fixtures. Strange if true.

| Good overall performance tonight. Thought Jefferies and Kearney were great tonight.
Everyone knows their job and with Elima back we shower some aggression.
Proud to be a Bull, COYB!

Let's be honest their first score shouldn't have happened and was down to the poor quality of the house refereeing (before you start with your boring rubbish tigertot yes he spotted the 8 point try but he cocked that up even because foster should have walked for that) and the second came when the game was over.'"
Diddums. Clear forward pass, no doubt, the ref didn't miss the tackle though. Foster wasn't even a penalty IMO. If the ball is on the floor it is there to be kicked. None of that should take anything away from a fantastic Bulls performance. Taxi for Royce.

Not even a penalty.. are you being serious? A player has right to compete for ball but you cannot kick the ball out a players hands. As soon as he makes contact with the head it has to be a penalty. It's no different to a player coming in with a clenched fist to try and stop a try and then knocking a player out...
Reckless but I don't think he intended to cause harm, penalty sufficient.

| I thought it was another great team effort from the players last night. Some excellent committed defence and some decent rugby played in tricky conditions. I thought Elima made a superb contribution especially considering it was his first game back. Manuokafoa is looking really promising, he isn't afraid to get stuck in and do the hard graft. BJ is leading the team fantastically, I knew he could he do that for us but I have been surprised how consistent he has been in Gale's absence.
Really proud of this bunch of players right now. They're showing the kind of attitude and willingness to work that I've been waiting for so long for. We might not be a team of superstars but we're a pretty decent TEAM, keep it up guys the supporters are right behind you!!

| I'll stick with my current view. We're not very good, but we're very good at what we do. Bit like Stoke in the Premier League. Not got the best players, won't win anything, but by god, do you know you've been in a game against them.
Attitude and effort in every game is all we ever ask for. Now we are seeing this and getting some results we all show our appreciation and the players realise this and give a little more.
Putting pride back into the club, and its great.

| I'm quite happy to be proved wrong and look forward to seeing it again, but IMO the ball is on the floor, Foster has already started to swing his leg before Whitehead grounds it. I've been slagging Foster for 2 years so am quite pleased to see the smug git get his come uppance. If you want to comment on a much worse incident look at Elima's on Gaskell after the ref had blown.

It is, but the important thing is to kick the ball rather than the player.
80% of high tackles are unintentional rather than deliberate or malicious. They're just badly executed tackles. But that doesnt mean they're not penalties. Similarly Foster was trying to kick the ball (and shouldnt be penalised by the disciplinary) but he executed it badly. Clear penalty.

Do you mean the one where gaskell knocked on, where the ref didnt blow the whistle so may have missed the knock on, therefore gaskell could have regathered the ball..elima then came in for the tackle..if the ref doesnt blow the whistle you carry on into the tackle as the player could just pick the ball up and run...
