... and according to Wikipedia has an English mother and obtained a British passport while playing with London. I remember McNamara did sound him out for the national side.

Any player who was playing in Superleague before 2007 are classified as fed trained.

My understanding is any overseas player (non-Fed trained, etc. French are fine) that played SL prior to 2007 doesn't count on the quota, 2007 - I think - is when the ruling was brought in, so it was unfair on anyone who was already here or had been here before.

Meli also qualifies in this instance, Lyon probably too...

However, I don't proclaim to be an expert, this is just what I understand, so if anyone knows different/better than I'm fine to be over-ruled.

Think that was a loophole hull found with heremaia. It's more useful for players who are Koloas players as they don't count on either quota. Overseas quota players who played SL pre 2007 still count on overseas quota although they get the fed trained exemption.

I'm pleased that we are retaining the young players. Not wanting to sound negative here but the majority of our current team are very mediocre. Should we be rejoicing at retaining the same team which clearly isn't good enough? Do you think that this year's team are only a couple of (above average) players away from being a team to compete? Just an innocent question for debate....now awaiting the y replies.
