Bradford gave us Hockney, Leeds gave us Moyles.:731.jpg

I think the point is, however much any individual has failed as a member of the coaching or playing staff at Bradford in the past five or indeed fifty years, none has had quite the nadir that those that booed Platt on had in their roles as fans and human beings.

Indefensible and plain weird to boot. However badly things are going in your life, can you please refrain from bringing your issues to Odsal (and this board, fwiw)?

Sorry, this isn't the easiest post to understand. Are you saying that expressing disappointment at the performances of the Bradford Bulls over the last number of years masks other issues? What branch of psychology inspired this hypothesis?

Think thats two very different points. I don't go in for booing the team or barracking individual players as I agree thats entirely counterproductive. However, surely this forum is where those kinds of frustrations can be discussed between fans. If the players don't want to know what we think then don't log in!

Some people do seem to take it too far and appear deadset on being negative but there have been plenty of reasons to be and not all their comments are misplaced.

Sunday's result was brilliant and a really good performance but it needs to be backed up and the team need to kick on. I don't believe it means nothing, even though I don't think we'll make the 8, they've proved to themselves what they can do. The effort shown needs to become the norm though.

Repeat performances are needed to keep the season ticket numbers up and the money coming for next year if nothing else.

Booing an individual player on to the field would seem to indicate to me some degree of unhappiness in the booer's life that may be exacerbated by the Bulls' failure to add to their trophy haul recently but certainly isn't caused by it.

Don't have any training in psychology but neither do I in medicine, and when I see someone laid on the ground with their foot pointing the wrong way, I know something is up. Same with the above brand of booers.

The guy you describe though seems very much like at least one character that we see on this forum. You really wonder why they follow the club (if that is what you can call it?) and what they get out of making themselves and everyone else totally miserable? Its like they regard being proved right (in their eyes) about how crap the team/coaches/club/stadium cat) are as being far more important than supporting the team?'"

You know, this is the second thread in as many day that you have seen fit to clearly have a pop at me (the other one got locked sadly before I could comment).

And to think I have not even posted on any of the threads in question too. Your obsession with me is very worrying now. Perhaps you should take a break from this forum and let your blood pressure drop a bit?

Perfect explanation of why all-seater stadia are ballocks. Buy a season ticket and if the guy in front is a bell end you're stuck with him for a year and paid a packet for the privilege.

No ta. I'd rather exercise my right to be over there.

If unhappiness in life led to people booing Michael Platt, Odsal would be sold out every week and you'd hear the booing at Pudsey.

Oh, they're not the only unhappy ones, just the ones also suffering a particular form of emotional incontinence.

I think, for the avoidance of doubt af, you might want to clarify that you are referring to only a very small number who are suffering from your "emotional incontinence"? On this thread, we have identified or seen one who sits in the stand, one who stands on the terraces and one who sits in front of his PC watching the scores. In reality, it is a very small number indeed of these strange types - but as Toonbull points out, they make a disproportionate amount of noise. They also tend to become a focus for discontent when times are bad.

Quote: Adeybull "Isn't that row just in front of the directors? I say that because I am on Row P in Block C, and as I look left into Block D the directors and distinguished guests are on the same row. So that would suggest your man is in hearing distance of the hierarchy?? Since you pick your seat rather than get allocated it, maybe a word in the hierarchy's ears might be in order? It is just in front of the directors, they must be no more than a couple of metres away. I'm surprised Peter Hood and the others haven't moved to the other end of the cushioned seats to get out of his way. I sit in the row in front (row M) around ten seats away, nearer the centre, and this guy can moan for England.

Happy to do that. A world of difference between having a "oh, FFS Bradford" reaction to the dustcart years that have followed the Lord Mayor's Show of the first decade of Super League, as opposed to the weirdly hateful and persistent need to define yourself by rage and bitterness towards a club who you are supposedly following for recreational purposes.

I think that the problem is, that from their point of view, [ithey[/i are the ones who can see the truth, whilst the rest of us, who [iI[/i would regard as more realistic, are hopeless know nothings who can't, or don't want to, see what's going on in front of our eyes.

They see a club rotting from the centre, destroying itself from within whilst the chairman, board, coach (and us) deny the problem. To be honest, I can't see any 'coming together' because I can't see any common ground. Their world, to me, is a black and white two dimensional binary place where everything is either right or wrong with no shade of grey, it is a world which I don't recognise; players are "Pish, pants or rapc" who "must be got rid of", money can be found to bring in anybody, whether it is there or not, and top players will sign for us, presumably just because we are the Bulls.

I suspect they see me, and others, as prepared to watch rubbish, not caring, and being blindly led down the garden path by the powers that be. Probably a bit wet, not prepared to see what, oh so obviously, "must" be done to bring the glory back. Two points of view divided by a common love for the same club. Sad really.

Thing is Bulliac, even when the trophies were on the sideboard, these people were still knocking around, spitting venom at the likes of Glen Tomlinson and other scapegoats.

Indeed. Spot on analysis by Bulliac. Anyone else feel they are the RL equivilents of the religious zealots who profess to speak for whichever iteration of God their religion is signed up to? Who profess to be the only ones to whom God has shown the true path, and whose mission in life is to convert those who have not yet see the Truth. Funnily enough, they also seem to have a desperate need for someone to take some notice of them, and an even bigger need for someone - anyone - to tell them "you were right". They simply cannot stand being ignored.

I doubt many of us really want to listen to or pay any attention to those religious zealots, but said zealots usually seem to have extreme difficulty understanding why that might be so. Maybe if they took their fingers off the "transmit" button for a bit, and pressed "receive" instead, they might find themselves starting to tread their own Road to Damascus?

I wonder if some of our own "Chosen Ones" will ever see the parallels, and in turn engage "Receive" mode for a change?

Once again I have reported you for your constant need to keep having a pop at me. Sadly, once again it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

It makes me wonder what on earth is the point of Mods when it is quite clear that they cannot upset good old Adey.
