Just happened to go to a chiipy in town for my lunch to find two posters showing nice succulent meat pies, but when aasked behind counter she stated they didnt do pies

Any one else see a point in advertising the pies as wigan fans dont go to town centre on match day ????

There are a few who do pies, chicken and sausages etc but as other posters have suggested it seems to be more prevalent on the dark side of the Pennines.

It's one of the main reasons why we do far better fish and chips than they do; along with using proper, chip 'oil fish (haddock), ours concentrate on doing one thing properly, without all the frippery. You know what they say, jack of all trades, master of none!

Having said all of which, if it ain't cooked in drippin, it ain't top quality fish'n'chips. And the number of places in Bradford that still use dripping is not a lot.

Funny that. Many years ago when I was a kid at school we went on a trip which included "high tea" (it [iwas [/ito York) and "high tea" turned out to be ....................fish and chips!!

So high tea always means fish 'n' chips in our house.

I must confess to having no idea what high tea is.

high tea is simply a more formal tea party.

and as I've previously explained, tea parties are a form of lunch

I'm coming over today for the game, anyone know where I can get a decent fish and chips near the stadium?
